Abstract

Dalam kehidupan era globalisasi dituntut pola berpikir dan sikap yang bijak dalam berbagai informasi serta tantangan yang dihadapi, maka dibutuhkan bekal pengetahuan konsep dan keterampilan berpikir pada jenjang yang lebih tinggi agar mampu beradaptasi dengan baik. Selama proses pembelajaran, setiap individu memiliki gaya belajar tersendiri dalam memahami informasi yang didapat. Gaya belajar (learning style) merupakan cara belajar yang dipengaruhi oleh pengalaman, jenis kelamin, dan juga etnis untuk menerima informasi, mengolah, serta menegemukakan kembali informasi yang telah didapat. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengkaji informasi tentang kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa pada materi pencemaran lingkungan berdasarkan gaya belajar dan gender. Terdapat tiga data yang diambil dengan melibatkan 37 siswa laki-laki dan 37 siswa perempuan salah satu SMA kelas X di antaranya kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi yang dijaring dengan menggunakan 12 soal uraian yang dikembangkan berdasarkan Taksonomi Bloom edisi revisi, gaya belajar siswa yang dijaring menggunakan instrumen gaya belajar dengan 45 pernyataan yang dibagi menjadi tiga area utama serta wawancara guru mata pelajaran sebagai informasi tambahan. Hasil yang didapat menunjukkan tidak adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa pada materi pencemaran lingkungan berdasarkan gaya belajar dan genderl;--- In the era of globalization demanded life patterns of thinking and wise attitude in a variety of information as well as the challenges faced, it takes stock of knowledge concepts and thinking skills at a higher level to be able to adapt well. During the learning process, each individual has their own learning style to understanding the information obtained. Learning style is a way of learning that is influenced by experience, gender, and ethnicity to receive information, process, and restate the information has been obtained. The purpose of this study is to assess information about higher order thinking skill of students on material environmental pollution based on learning styles and gender. There are three data taken involving 37 male students and 37 female students at one of senior high school grade X among them the ability to think critically is captured by using 12 questions descriptions are developed based on Bloom's Taxonomy revised edition, student learning styles are captured using learning style instrument with 45 statements that are divided into three major areas as well as an interview subject teachers as additional information. The results showed no significant relationship between heigher order thinking skill of students on material environmental pollution based on learning styles and gender.
