Abstract

Suatu pembelajaran disebut efektif bila tujuan dari pembelajaran tersebut tercapai. Efektivitas pembelajaran sangat bergantung pada kompetensi guru. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji pengaruh kompetensi pedagogik dan kompetensi professional dari guru terhadap efektivitas pembelajaran pada Mata Pelajaran Matematika di SMA Negeri Se-Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis regresi multipel terhadap 87 guru matematika di 15 SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi pedagogik dan kompetensi profesional dari guru termasuk kategori relatif tinggi, yang berarti penguasaan kompetensi pedagogik dan kompetensi profesional dari guru matematika di SMAN di Kabupaten Bandung Barat perlu dipertahankan bahkan ditingkatkan agar efektivitas pembelajaran dapat optimal. Efektivitas pembelajaran termasuk kategori relatif tinggi, yang berarti proses pembelajaran matematika di SMAN di Kabupaten Bandung Barat perlu dipertahankan dan ditingkatkan. Pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi pedagogik secara signifikan berpengaruh terhadap efektivitas pembelajaran, demikian pula dengan kompetensi profesional. Secara bersama-sama, kompetensi pedagogik dan kompetensi profesional memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap efektivitas pembelajaran matematika. Pengaruh kompetensi pedagogik terhadap efektivitas pembelajaran lebih dominan dibandingkan dengan pengaruh kompetensi profesional. Kondisi ini menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi pedagogik merupakan faktor dominan dalam menentukan efektivitas pembelajaran. Ini tidak berarti bahwa kompetensi profesional tidak penting, namun kompetensi profesional ini masih perlu dioptimalkan. Implikasi dari temuan ini adalah bahwa baik kompetensi pedagogik maupun kompetensi profesional guru matematika di SMAN di Kabupaten Bandung Barat secara bersamaan masih perlu dioptimalkan agar efektivitas pembelajaran dapat optimal pula.;---A learning process is effective if the purpose of the learning is achieved. Learning effectiveness depends heavily on the competence of teachers. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of pedagogic competence and professional competence of teachers on the effectiveness of learning in mathematics subject at public senior high school in West Bandung Regency. This research was conducted using the descriptive method with quantitative approach. Data were analyzed using multiple regression analysis to the 87 math teachers in 15 senior high schools in West Bandung Regency. The results showed that the pedagogic competence and professional competence of teachers were high, which means that the mastery of pedagogical competence and professional competence of teachers of mathematics at senior high schools in West Bandung Regency still need to be improved so that the effectiveness of learning can increase as well. The effectiveness of learning were high, which means the process of learning mathematics still need to be improved. The hypothesis testing showed that the pedagogic competence significantly affect the effectiveness of learning, as well as professional competence. Simultaneously, pedagogical and professional competence have a significant effect on the effectiveness of learning in mathematics. Influence of pedagogical competence on effectiveness of learning is more dominant than the effect of professional competence. This condition indicates that the pedagogical competence is the dominant factor in determining the effectiveness of learning. This does not mean that professional competence is not important, but the professional competence still needs to be improved. The implications of these finding is that both pedagogical and professional competence of teachers of mathematics at senior high schools in West Bandung Regency still need to be improved so that the effectiveness of learning can increase as well.
