Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kemampuan siswa SMA dalam menyelesaikan soal diagram proses. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri atas 38 siswa kelas XI di salah satu SMA negeri di Cimahi. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan menggunakan tes diagram proses three-tier. Sebagai data pendukung dilakukan wawancara pada siswa untuk mengungkap faktor yang mungkin mempengaruhi kemampuan siswa. Kemampuan menyelesaikan soal diagram proses dibatasi pada materi biologi yang menggunakan diagram proses yaitu reproduksi virus, siklus biogeokimia dan hormon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata capaian kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal diagram proses adalah 13,57 dan tergolong ke dalam kategori sangat rendah. Dari ketiga materi biologi tersebut, semua materi biologi yang diujikan berada pada kategori sangat rendah. Temuan lainnya menunjukkan adanya siswa yang mengalami miskonsepsi pada materi reproduksi virus, siklus biogeokimia dan hormon. Cara belajar siswa, sumber belajar dan kegiatan belajar di sekolah menjadi faktor yang memungkinkan kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal diagram proses sangat rendah. ---; This research was aim to investigate the senior high school (SHS) students’ ability to solve process diagram problems. The methode used in this research is descriptive method. Sample of this study were 38 students of eleventh grade senior high school in Cimahi. The research data was taken from three tier process diagram test. Interview was conducted to reveal the factors which possibly caused the students’ ability. The ability to solve process diagram problem is limited to the biological topics using process diagram are virus reproduction, biogeochemical cycle and hormone. The result show that the average achievement of student’ ability to solve process diagram is 13,57 and classified into the very low category. From the three topics, all of biological topics is tested are in the very low category. Another result show that students experienced misconceptions on the topic of virus reproduction, biogeochemical cycle and hormone. Students learning, learning resources and learning activities in school become the factors that possibly causing the very low achievement of student’ ability to solve process diagram problem.
