Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi bahwa kemampuan koneksi matematis merupakan kemampuan yang penting dimiliki siswa untuk dapat mengaplikasikan konsep matematika dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Akan tetapi pada kenyataannya, kemampuan koneksi matematis masih tergolong rendah. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa dengan model pembelajaran CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) dan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran CORE terhadap kemampuan koneksi matematis kuat atau tidak. Model pembelajaran CORE merupakan model pembelajaran yang memiliki empat sintaks yaitu menghubungkan konsep baru dengan konsep sebelumnya, mengorganisasikan ide untuk memahami konsep baru, memikirkan kembali dan menggali informasi yang sudah didapat, serta mengembangkan dan memperluas pengetahuan selama proses belajar berlangsung. Model pembelajaran CORE kemudian diterapkan kepada siswa kelas VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan kuasi eksperimen dan kualitatif dengan perhitungan effect size. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan desain kelompok kontol non-ekuivalen dengan dua kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen dengan model pembelajaran CORE dan kelas kontrol dengan model pembelajaran konvensional yaitu model pembelajaran yang menerapkan metode ekspositori. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, peningkatan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada siswa kelas kontrol. Pembelajaran matematika dengan model pembelajaran CORE memiliki pengaruh yang lemah terhadap kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa. Melalui lembar observasi, kegiatan guru dan kegiatan siswa di kelas eksperimen telah terlaksana dengan baik. Selanjutnya, perangkat pembelajaran yang telah dibuat dapat diterapkan ataupun dikembangkan kembali untuk penelitian berikutnya. ;---This research is motivated that mathematical connection ability is an important ability of the students to be able to apply mathematical concepts in everyday life. But in fact, the mathematical connection ability is still relatively low. Based on this, the research aims to improve students' mathematical connection with CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) learning model and to determine the effect on CORE learning model of mathematical connection ability is strong or not. CORE learning model is a model of learning that has four syntax they are connects the new concept with the previous concept, organize ideas to understand new concepts, rethink and explore the information has been obtained, as well as develop and expand their knowledge during the learning process takes place. Then, CORE learning model be applied to the eighth grade students of Muhammadiyah 6 Junior High School, Bandung. The methods used in this research are quantitative with quasi-experiment and qualitative with effect size calculation. The research design used in this research is the non-equivalent control group design with two classes, they are experiment class with CORE learning model and control class with conventional learning model, that apply expository method. Based on the results of the research, an increase in the mathematical connection ability of students in experiment class is higher than students in control class. Learning mathematics by learning model CORE has a low influence on the students' mathematical connection abilities. Through by observation sheets, activities of teachers and students in the experimental class have been performing well. Furthermore, the learning device that has been created can be applied or developed again for next research.
