Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kesulitan siswa untuk memulai menulis cerpen. Kesulitan memulai menulis terjadi karena tidak adanya ide. Ide, merupakan hal penting yang harus dimatangkan di awal sebelum praktik menulis agar proses menulis tidak terhambat. Selain ide, siswa seringkali menulis tanpa memerhatikan aspek kelengkapan formal, kelengkapan unsur/sturktur, kepaduan unsur/struktur, dan penggunaan bahasa cerpen. Pendekatan yang bisa dijadikan alternatif pemunculan ide adalah pendekatan konstruktivisme. Melalui pendekatan tersebut siswa diarahkan untuk mengontruksi ide melalui tahapan observasi, konstruksi interpretasi, kontekstualisasi, masa belajar keahlian kognitif, kolaborasi, interpretasi ganda, dan manifestasi ganda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan 1) kualitas cerpen siswa sebelum dan sesudah diterapkan pendekatan konstruktivisme di kelas eksperimen; 2) kualitas cerpen siswa tanpa diterapkan pendekatan konstruktivisme di kelas kontrol; 3) ada tidaknya perbedaan yang signifikan pada kemampuan siswa dalam menulis cerpen di kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen kuasi dengan desain penelitian nonequivalent control group desain. Pengambilan sampel kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengambilan data menggunakan instrumen tes dan nontes. Data yang diperoleh berupa hasil tes kemampuan menulis cerpen. Analisis data menggunakan uji prasyarat dan uji hasil. Uji hasil ditunjukkan melalui uji hipotesis dengan hasil perhitungan thitung > ttabel (11 > 1,998). Uji hipotesis menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan dari pendekatan konstruktivisme dan metode pembelajaran terlangsung. --- This research is motivated by the difficulty of students to start writing short stories. Difficulties start writing occurs in the absence of ideas. The idea, it is important to be matured in early before practice writing so that the writing process is not hampered. In addition to ideas, students often write without regard to the formal aspects of completeness, completeness elements / structures, cohesion elements / structures, and the use of language short stories. The approach could be an alternative appearance of the idea is a constructivist approach. Through this approach students are directed to mengontruksi idea through the stages of observation, interpretation construction, contextualization, future cognitive learning skills, collaboration, double interpretations, and multiple manifestations. This study aimed to describe 1) the quality of the students before and after the short story constructivist approach applied in the experimental class; 2) the quality of the student short story without a constructivist approach applied in the control class; 3) whether there is a significant difference in students' ability to write short stories in the experimental class and control class. The method used is a quasi experimental research design with nonequivalent control group design. Sampling experimental class and control class using purposive sampling technique. Retrieving data using test instruments and non-test. Data obtained in the form of test results the ability to write short stories. Data analysis used preconditions and test results. Test results indicated by testing the hypothesis with the results of calculations tcount> ttable (11> 1.998). Hypothesis test showed no significant difference from the application of the constructivism approach and conventional learning methods.
