Abstract

Buku teks merupakan bentuk bahan ajar yang paling berpengaruh terhadap kualitas pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan buku teks yang digunakan di sebagian besar SMA/MA negeri di kota Bandung, berdasarkan tiga kriteria tahap seleksi dari Four Steps Teaching Material Development (4S TMD) yaitu kesesuaian dengan kurikulum, kebenaran konsep, dan penanaman nilai, pada materi hidrolisis garam. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian evaluatif. Untuk mengetahui ketercapaian kriteria pertama yakni ruang lingkup sesuai dengan tuntutan kurikulum, maka dilakukan analisis keluasan dan kedalaman. Analisis keluasan dilakukan dengan membandingkan label konsep objek penelitian dengan label konsep standar, menghasilkan kesimpulan bahwa keluasannya belum sesuai dengan tuntutan kurikulum karena tidak menyampaikan empat label konsep yang dituntut kurikulum sehingga materi tersebut dinyatakan kurang luas. Analisis kedalaman dilakukan dengan membandingkan penjelasan konsep objek penelitian dengan penjelasan konsep standar, menunjukkan bahwa terdapat dua konsep yang penjelasannya kurang dalam, dan tiga konsep terlalu dalam. Dengan kata lain, kedalamannya juga belum sesuai dengan tuntutan kurikulum. Selanjutnya, ketercapaian kriteria kedua yaitu kebenaran konsep, diketahui dengan membandingkan konsep pada objek penelitian dengan konsep standar. Hasil analisis ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat satu konsep dinyatakan salah. Terakhir, untuk mengetahui ketercapaian kriteria ketiga yaitu menanamkan nilai-nilai, dilakukan dengan membandingkan bagian penanaman nilai dengan indikator penanaman nilai. Hasil analisisnya menunjukkan bahwa terdapat lima nilai yaitu rasa ingin tahu, disiplin, toleransi, komunikatif, dan demokratis, yang ditanamkan pada materi tersebut. ;---Textbook is the most influence teaching material on learning process. This study was conducted to determine the ‎feasibility of the textbooks which is used in ‎most SMA/MA in kota Bandung based on three criteria of ‎the selection phase of Four Steps Teaching ‎Material Development (4S TMD) that is scope based on with curriculum claim, concept validity, and character building, in salt hydrolysis ‎material. Type of this study is used evaluative study. To know achievement the first criteria is scope based on with curriculum claim, so is done the large analysis and the depth. The large analysis is done to compare the concept label to the study object with the standard concept label, the result that it’s large not yet with curriculum claim, because of no extend four concepts label with curriculum claim so the material is not lass large. The depth analysis is done with a way compare definition concept of material analysis with the definition standard concept, indicate such as two concepts that discussion is less depth, and three concepts is more depth. The other word, the depth material is not agree with curriculum claim. Furthermore, the second achievement criteria is the concept validity, well known with a way compare of the concept material with standard concept. The result of analysis there is one concept fault. The last, analysis was conducted to examine the attainment of character building criterion by comparing a section of character building with characters indicator. From this analysis, we found that the character which is built in the research object is curiosity, dicipline, tolerance, communicative, and democratic.
