Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilakukan berdasarkan permasalahan belum tumbuhnya kecerdasan naturalis anak kelompok B1 TK Kartika XIX-I Siliwangi Kota Bandung. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dan observasi awal diketahui bahwa anak belum memperlakukan tanaman sebagaiman mestinya, anak belum menjaga kebersihan diri sendiri serta lingkungan sekitar sekolah. Sehinggga kecerdasan naturalis anak perlu ditingkatkan karena hal ini akan berpengaruh terhadap sikap anak saat dewasa memperlakukan lingkungan sekitar dan alam. Tujuan penelitian tindakan kelas ini adalah membantu guru kelas memperbaiki kualitas pembelajaran dalam menumbuhkan kecerdasan naturalis melalui penerapan strategi garden based learning. Penelitian tindakan kelas dilaksanakan pada tanggal 18 April sampai 12 Mei 2016, dengan desain penelitian Kemmis & McTaggart dengan pola kolaboratif. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data kualitatif dengan teknik thematic analysis. Dilakukan selama tiga siklus masing-masing dengan dua tindakan dan setiap tindakan terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan serta refleksi. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa melalui penerapan strategi garden based learning menunjukkan peningkatan tumbuhnya kecerdasan naturalis anak. Hal ini terbukti pada meningkatnya pengetahuan anak tentang jenis tanaman, hewan serta benda-benda alam dilingkungan sekitar sekolah. Peningkatan perubahan sikap anak terhadap lingkungan sekitar sekolah yang lebih baik yaitu anak sudah memperlakukan tanaman sebagaimana mestinya, menjaga kebersihan diri sendiri dan lingkungan sekitar sekolah. Strategi pembelajaran dengan memanfaatkan lingkungan sekitar sekolah seperti kebun sekolah sebagai alat pembelajaran dapat menumbuhkan kecerdasan naturalis anak usia dini. ;---The action class research is done based on the problem of the naturalist intelligence that has not developed yet of Group B1 Kartika XIX-I Kindergarten children in Siliwangi, Bandung. From the interview and early observation, it is known that children have not taking care of plants, personal hygiene, and school environment as they should be. Due to this fact, children’s naturalist intelligence needs to be enhanced because it will influence their attitude later on toward their environment and nature. The purpose of this action class research is to help classroom teacher to increase the quality of learning and develop children’s naturalist intelligence through the application of garden based learning strategy. The action class research will be conducted on 18th April until 12th May 2016, with Kemmis & McTaggart research design with collaborative pattern. The data is collected through observation, interview, and documentary. The data analysis is using qualitative analysis with thematic analysis technique. It is conducted in three stages, each with two actions. Every action consists of planning, application, observation, and reflection. The result of the research shows that through the application of garden based learning, there is an increase of children’s naturalist intelligence. This is proven by the enhanced children’s knowledge of plants, animals, and nature’s articles in school environment. The surge of children’s behaviour toward school environment are: children are capable of handling treating plants as they should and also taking care of their personal hygiene and school environment. Learning strategy using school environment as the instrument like school garden can develop the naturalist intelligence of children.
