Abstract

Penelitian ini didasarkan pada permasalahan rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam keterampilan sosial. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kemampuan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran IPS untuk meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa di sekolah dasar, dilihat dari kemampuan guru dalam merencanakan pembelajaran, melaksanaan pembelajaran, dan melakukan penilaian pembelajaran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas di sekolah dasar di SDN Karangasem I Kec. Terisi Kab. Indramayu. Subjek penelitian adalah 34 siswa kelas IV. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, studi dokumentasi, dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian adalah kemampuan guru dalam merencanakan pembelajaran secara keseluruhan mampu mengembangkan keterampilan sosial, melalui kemampuan dalam merumuskan komponen-komponen yang ada dalam RPP yaitu; indikator, tujuan pembelajaran, langkah-langkah pembelajaran, dan juga dalam menentukan metode dan media pembelajaran. Penilaian yang dilaksanakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran belum sepenuhnya dapat mengembangkan keterampilan sosial. Penilaian proses yang dilakukan guru selama kegiatan pembelajaran melalui tanya jawab mampu mengembangkan keterampilan sosial siswa. Sedangkan penilaian hasil yang dilaksanakan di akhir kegiatan pembelajaran melalui evaluasi secara individual, belum mampu mengembangkan keterampilan sosial, dikarenakan soal-soal yang diberikan baru sebatas ingatan saja. Reinforcement, dan juga waktu yang diberikan baik untuk bertanya ataupun menjawab pertanyaan merupakan upaya-upaya yang dilakukan guru dalam mengembangkan keterampilan sosial. Adapun hambatan-hambatan yang dihadapi guru dalam mengembangkan keterampilan sosial siswa berasal dari guru itu sendiri, siswa, dan juga lingkungan sekitar. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, direkomendasikan untuk lebih memotivasi guru agar dapat meningkatkan kemampuan dan keterampilan dalam merancang dan melaksanakan penilaian dalam kegiatan pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa.;--- The study was based on the problem of low ability students in social skills. The purpose of this study was to analyze the ability of teachers to manage the teaching learning of social studies to increase social skills in elementary school students, viewed from the teaching ability of teachers in planning, carrying out learning, and assessment of learning. The method used of the research is classroom action research at elementary school SDN I Karangasem Sub District Terisi District Indramayu. The subjects were 34 students of class IV. The technique used of collecting data through observation, documentation studies, and literature. The research result is the ability of teachers in the learning plan as a whole is able to develop social skills, through the ability to formulate the components contained in the RPP, namely; indicators, learning objectives, learning steps, and also in determining the methods and instructional media. Assessment carried out in learning activities has not been fully able to develop social skills. Teachers’ assessment process undertaken during learning activities through debriefing able to develop students' social skills. While the results of the assessment carried out at the end of the learning activities through individual evaluation, have not been able to develop social skills, because the questions are given only limited memory only. Reinforcement, and also given good time to ask or answer questions the efforts of the teachers in developing social skills. The obstacles faced by teachers in developing the social skills of students come from the teachers themselves, students, and also the surrounding environment. Based on the research results, it is recommended to further motivate teachers in order to improve the capabilities and skills in designing and implementing assessment in learning activities that can increase students' social skill.
