Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan proses sains (KPS) dan sikap ilmiah siswa melalui perbandingan penggunaan model project based learning (PjBL) dengan pendekatan sains teknologi masyarakat (STM) dan yang tidak menggunakan pendekatan sains teknologi masyarakat (STM). Metode penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperiment dengan tipe nonequivalent pretest–posttest control-group design. Sampel penelitian ini ialah siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Danau Kembar tahun pelajaran 2016/2017 yang berjumlah 55 siswa, dengan rincian kelas eksperimen yang diajarkan menggunakan model PjBl dengan pendekatan STM berjumlah 26 siswa dan kelas kontrol tanpa menggunakan pendekatan STM berjumlah 29 siswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes KPS dan angket sikap ilmiah siswa. Analisis data menggunakan software SPSS 16. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan keterampilan proses sains pada kelompok ekperimen meningkat secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol yaitu (ρ value = 0,000). Peningkatan Sikap ilmiah siswa pada kelompok eksperimen meningkat secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol yaitu (ρ value = 0,000). Berdasarkan hasil tersebut disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada tema pencemaran air yang menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek dengan pendekatan STM dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran berbasis proyek tanpa menggunakan pendekatan STM.; This study aims to determine the increase of science process skills, and scientific attitudes of students through a comparison of the use of project based learning (PjBL) model with science-technology-society (STS) approach and without STS approach. This research method was quasy experiment with the type of nonequivalent pretest-posttest control-group design. Samples of this research were the students of class VII SMP Negeri 1 Danau Kembar in the academic year 2016/2017 which totaling 55 students, with details of the experimental class which was taught by using PjBL model with the STS approach, totaling 26 students and control class without the use of the STS approach, totaling 29 students. Collecting data used KPS tests and questionnaires about scientific attitudes of students. Data analysis was done by using SPSS 16. The results showed that the increase in science process skills in the experimental group improved significantly compared with the control group (ρ value = 0.000). The Increase of scientific attitude of students in the experimental group improved significantly compared with the control group (ρ value = 0.000). Based on these results, it could be concluded that there were significant differences on learning outcomes of students on the theme of water pollution using project-based learning model with STS approach compared to project-based learning without the use of the STS approach.
