Abstract
Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMK PGRI 2 Cimahi. Permasalahan yang menjadi kajian dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya kemandirian belajar siswa. Hal tersebut ditandai dengan rendahnya minat membaca siswa dan kurangnya inisiatif siswa dalam pembelajaran meliputi merencanakan pembelajaran, melaksanakan pembelajaran dan mengevaluasi pembelajaran. Fokus kajiannya diarahkan pada faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kemandirian belajar. Kecerdasan emosional merupakan faktor yang diduga memiliki pengaruh terhadap kemandirian belajar. Oleh karena itu penelitian mengkaji dua variabel yaitu kecerdasan emosional (X) dan kemandirian belajar (Y). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode explanatory survey. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara dan angket (kuesioner) dengan model skala likert. Responden adalah siswa SMK PGRI 2 Cimahi sebanyak 264 orang didapat dari teknik pengambilan sampel jenis sampel acak sederhana (random sampling). Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis regresi. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kecerdasan emosional berada pada kategori sangat tinggi dan kemandirian belajar siswa di SMK PGRI 2 Cimahi berada pada kategori tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis regresi diperoleh bahwa kecerdasan emosional memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kemandirian belajar siswa.; This research was conducted at PGRI Vocational School of 2 Cimahi. The problem to be studied in this research is the lack of independence of students’ learning. It is characterized by low reading interest of students and the lacks of student initiative in learning, including the planning, implementing, and evaluating learning. Focus of this study is directed at the factors that influence learning independence. Emotional intelligence is a factor that is thought to have an influence on independent in learning. Therefore, this study examines two variables of emotional intelligence (X) and independent in learning (Y). This research uses explanatory survey method. The techniques is collecting data in this research used interviews and questionnaire with Likert scale model. Respondents were students of PGRI Vocational School of 2 Cimahi as many as 264 people obtained from random sampling. Data were analyzed using regression analysis. The results of data analysis showed that emotional intelligence is in the category of very high and independence for students at SMK PGRI 2 Cimahi at the high category. Based on the results of regression analysis showed that emotional intelligence has a positive effect and it has significant impact on student learning independence.
