Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh beberapa permasalahan yang ditemukan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia yaitu oleh rendahnya keaktifan belajar siswa, diantaranya adalah tidak adanya siswa yang bertanya, minimnya siswa yang memperhatikan penjelasan guru, serta pembelajaran hanya berlangsung satu arah oleh guru (teacher centered). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses dan keaktifan belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia melalui penerapan model Whole Brain Teaching. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model penelitian yang diadaptasi dari Kemmis Mc Taggart. Penelitian ini dirancang dan dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Sebagai subjek penelitian yakni siswa kelas V di salah satu Sekolah Dasar yang berada di Kecamatan Sukasari Kota Bandung dengan jumlah siswa 27 orang yang terdiri dari 13 siswa laki-laki dan 14 siswa perempuan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah dengan menggunakan lembar observasi, catatan lapangan, dan lembar keaktifan siswa. Adapun hasil penelitian terhadap keaktifan belajar siswa dengan menerapkan model whole brain teaching telah menunjukkan peningkatan. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh data sebagai berikut. Keaktifan belajar siswa melalui penerapan model Whole Brain Teaching meningkat, ditunjukan dengan siswa yang terlibat aktif mencapai indikator keaktifan siswa. Serta berdasarkan persentase lembar observasi yang menunjukan peningkatan dengan rincian siklus I sebesar 59%, dan siklus II 93%. Peningkatan pada indikator keaktifan siswa menunjukkan peningkatan dengan rincian, pada indikator memperhatikan penjelasan guru meningkat 49%. Indikator menjawab pertanyaan meningkat 44%. Indikator bertanya pada guru meningkat 37%. Indikator melaksanakan diskusi kelompok meningkat 45%. Indikator mengemukakan pendapat dalam diskusi meningkat 44%. Dan indikator terakhir menerima pendapat dalam diskusi meningkat 52%. Dari hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model whole brain teaching dapat meningkatan keaktifan siswa pada pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di kelas V sekolah dasar.; This research is motivated by several problems found in learning Indonesian ie by low activeness of student learning, including the absence of students who asked, lack of attention to the students that the teacher's explanation, and learning only takes place in one direction by the teacher (teacher centered). This study aims to determine the process and students' learning activeness on the subjects of Indonesian through the application of models of Whole Brain Teaching. The method used is the method of classroom action research. This study uses a Class Action Research (PTK) with a research model adapted from Kemmis Mc Taggart. The study was designed and conducted in two cycles. As the research subjects fifth grade students at one elementary school located in District Sukasari Bandung with the number of students 27 people consisting of 13 male students and 14 female students. The data collection technique is done by using observation sheets, field notes and student activity sheets. The research results of the activity of student learning by applying the model of whole brain teaching have shown improvement. The results were obtained the following data. Activeness of student learning through the application of Whole Brain Teaching models increases, shown by the students involved actively in achieving student activity indicator. And based on the observation sheet that shows the percentage increase in the details of the first cycle of 59%, and the second cycle 93%. The increase in the student activity indicator showed an increase with the details, the attention indicators increased 49% teachers' explanations. Indicators answered questions increased 44%. Indicators asked the teachers increased 37%. Indicators carry out discussion groups increased by 45%. Indicators express opinions in discussion increased 44%. And the last indicator receive opinions in discussion increased 52%. From these results, it can be concluded that the model of whole brain teaching can improve students' activity in learning Indonesian in the fifth grade of primary school.
