Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran mengenai perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berfikir kritis yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan Problem Based Learning. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar di Kecamatan Ciparay Kabupaten Bandung. Sampel terdiri dari 51 siswa dibagi menjadi 25 siswa di kelas IV-A sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan 26 siswa di kelas IV-B sebagai kelompok kontrol. Analisis kuantitatif dilakukan terhadap skor N-gain kemampuan berfikir kritis siswa di kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan terdiri tes tertulis mengenai permasalahan sosial. Berdasarkan temuan di lapangan, diperoleh skor N-Gain kemampuan berfikir kritis untuk kelas eksperimen lebih baik dibandingkan dengan skor N-Gain kemampuan berfikir kritis kelas kontrol. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis pada siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Kata kunci : kemampuan berfikir kritis, Problem Based Learning This study aims to obtain an overview of the differences in the increase in the ability to think critically acquire learning by using Problem Based Learning. This research is quantitative with quasi-experimental methods. The study population was the fourth grade students from elementary schools in the District Ciparay Bandung regency. Sample consisted of 51 students divided into 25 students in the class IV-A as an experimental group and 26 students in the class IV-B as the control group. Quantitative analysis was carried out on a score of N-gain critical thinking skills of students in the experimental class and control class. Instruments used comprises a written test regarding social issues. Based on the findings in the field, earned a score of N-Gain critical thinking skills to the experimental class is better than the score of N-Gain critical thinking ability of the control class. It can be concluded that an increase in critical thinking skills in students whose learning using problem-based learning model is higher than students whose learning using conventional learning.
