Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan yang terjadi di kelas VIII-6 SMP Negeri 9 Kota Bandung yang ditemukan oleh peneliti pada saat melakukan observasi awal. Berdasarkan hasil observasi yang dilakukan oleh peneliti pada tanggal 21 oktober 2015, peneliti menemukan permasalahan yaitu siswa kurang memiliki kemampuan berpikir analisis. Hal ini ditunjukan dengan beberapa indikator permasalahan diantaranya siswa kurang mampu menganalisis suatu masalah, siswa belum bisa berpikir secara konkret, siswa juga belum bisa menganalisis informasi yang masuk, membagi-bagi atau menstrukturkan informasi ke dalam bagian yang lebih kecil untuk mengenali pola atau hubungannya. Alternatif pemecahan masalah yang menjadi pilihan peneliti yaitu dengan menerapkan penggunaan media film dokumenter. Penggunaan film dokumenter dimaksudkan agar siswa mampu aktif dalam pembelajaran, focus dan mampu berpikir analisis. Meninjau permasalahan yang akan diteliti berkaitan dengan proses pembelajaran dan kemampuan siswa, maka peneliti memilih Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model Kemmis Mc. Taggart yang dilakukan dalam 3 siklus. Penggunaan media film dokumenter untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir analisis siswa di kelas VIII-6 SMP Negeri 9 Kota Bandung dapat dikatakan berhasil. Berhasilnya penelitian ini dilihat dari adanya pengembangan atau peningkatan kuantitas dan kualitas kemampuan berpikir analisis siswa yang ditunjukan melalui perkembangan aspek-aspek atau beberapa indikator dari dimensi kemampuan berpikir analisis yaitu membedakan, mengorganisasi, dan mengatribusikan. setelah menggunakan media film dokumenter. Maka penggunaan tayangan film yang disajikan oleh guru berdampak positif terhadap kemampuan berpikir analisis siswa. Hal tersebut membuktikan bahwa media memiliki pengaruh yang sangat kuat pada minat dan motivasi belajar siswa. Seluruh aspek dari dimensi – dimensi kemampuan berpikir analisis mengalami peningkatan dari siklus I hingga siklus III dari kualitas kurang, cukup hingga menjadi baik. Kesimpulannya bahwa penggunaan media film dokumenter dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir analisis siswa. Kata Kunci : Kemampuan Berpikir Analisis, Media Film Dokumenter, Pembelajaran IPS This research is motivated by the issues raised in VIII Grade Class 6 Junior High School of 9 Bandung, which was discovered by researcher at the time of the initial observations. Based on observations conducted by researcher on October, 21th 2015, researcher found problems that students lack the ability to think analytically. It is showed by several problems indicators such as students are less able to analyze a problem, students have not been able to think concretely, students also have not been able to analyze incoming information, divide or structuring information into smaller parts to identify patterns or relationships. An alternative solution to the problem selected by the researcher is to employ the use of documentary media. The use of documentary media intended to make students able to be active in learning, be focus and be able to think analytically. Reviewing the problems to be studied with regard to the learning process and the student's ability, the researcher chose a Class Action Research with Kemmis Mc.Taggart models, done in three cycles. The use of documentary media to improve analytical thinking skill of students in the VIII grade Class 6Junior High School of 9 Bandung was successful. The success of this research is seen from the development or improvement of the quantity and quality of students' analytical thinking skills shown through the development aspects or dimensions of several indicators of analytical thinking skills, such as differentiate, organize, and attribute after using the media documentaries. Therefore, the uses of film presented by the teacher positively affect students' analytical thinking skills. This proves that the media has a very strong influence on the students' interest and motivation. All aspects of the dimensions of analytical thinking ability increased from the first cycle to the third cycle,from less quality to be good enough.
