Abstract
Realization of request by a child of 4,11 years old who speaks Bahasa Indonesia and lives in a Sundanese Culture environment is a representation of her ability in understanding and intending language functions related to context of culture and sutuation. This study was started from November, 2014 until June, 2015 by using method of observation and interview to collect a ntural data. This study aims to know patterns of uttrance and speech act realizations used and made by the child in expressing her requests. The result of data analysis shows that of 73 requests done by the child, 52% was realized into declaratives, 18% into interrogatives, 15% into imperatives, and 15% else into other patterns which are a combination between and/or among the three basic sentence types. Meanwhile, in speech act realization, 55% of 73 requests done by the child was expressed through indirect strategies covering conventional and nonconventional indirect request. Then, 45% of other requests was expressed through direct strategies covering direct request as UPM, combination of UPR & UPM, UPM & UPMT, and even UPR, UPM & UPMT. Key Words: Speech Act, Request, Patterns of Utterances, Patterns of Speech Acts Realisasi request oleh anak usia 4,11 tahun yang berbahasa Indonesia, yang tinggal di lingkungan Budaya Sunda, merupakan representasi dari kemampuannya dalam memaknai dan memahami fungsi bahasa terkait dengan konteks budaya dan situasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama kurang lebih 8 bulan terhitung sejak November 2014 sampai dengan Juni 2015 dengan metode observasi dan interview. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pola realisasi tuturan dan pertuturan yang digunakan dan dilakukan oleh anak usia 4,11 tahun tersebut dalam menyampaikan request-nya. Hasil analisis menujukkan bahwa dari 73 request yang tercatat, 52% direalisasikan kedalam pola tuturan declaratives, 18% interrogatives, 15% imperatives, dan 15% lagi merupakan gabungan diantara dan dari ketiganya. Semantara itu, realisasi request dalam pola pertuturan, 55% dilakukan melalui indirect strategy yang direalisasikan kedalam pola conventional dan nonconventional. Kemudian, 45% request lainnya dilakukan melalui direct strategy yang direalisasikan kedalam 4 pola pertuturan yang melibatkan 1) tindak tutur tunggal sebagai UPM, 2) gabungan UPR & UPM, 3) gabungan UPM & UPMT, dan 4) gabungan UPR, UPM & UPMT.
