Abstract

Literasi matematis dan self-esteem siswa penting untuk dikembangkan, oleh karena itu, diperlukan suatu pendekatan pembelajaran matematika yang dilakukan secara bertahap sesuai kemampuan siswa, salah satunya adalah pendekatan Concrete-Representational-Abstract (CRA). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menelaah peningkatan kemampuan literasi matematis dan juga self-esteem siswa SMP setelah mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan CRA. Penelitian ini berjenis kuasi eksperimen dengan desain kelompok kontrol non ekuivalen. Kelompok eksperimen memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan CRA dan kelompok kontrol memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. Semua siswa kelas VIII salah satu SMP Negeri di Cimahi dijadikan populasi dan dipilih dua kelas VIII siswa SMP tersebut sebagai sampel. Kedua kelas diberikan pretes, kemudian pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan CRA diberikan pada kelas eksperimen dan pembelajaran konvensional pada kelas kontrol, dan kemudian postes. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui pemberian tes kemampuan literasi matematis dan skala sikap self-esteem. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan literasi matematis dan self-esteem siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan CRA lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional, serta tidak terdapat hubungan kemampuan literasi matematis dan self-esteem siswa dalam matematika. Kata Kunci: kemampuan literasi matematis, self-esteem, dan pendekatan CRA. Mathematical literacy and self-esteem of students need to be developed, therefore, needed an approach to learning math is done in stages according to the ability of the students, one of which is the approach of Concrete-Representational-Abstract (CRA). This study aimed to describe and analyze the increase in mathematical literacy skills and self-esteem after a junior high school students get a lesson with CRA approach. This research was a quasi-experimental design with non-equivalent control group. The experimental group gained CRA learning approach and gain control group of conventional learning. All eighth grade students of SMP Negeri one in Cimahi used as population and selected two eighth grade junior high school students as a sample. Both of class are given a pretest, then learning by using CRA approach given the experimental class and the conventional learning control class, and then the post-test. Data were obtained through the provision of mathematical literacy test capabilities and attitudes of self-esteem scale. The results showed an increase in mathematical literacy skills and self-esteem of students who acquire learning by using CRA approach is better than the students who received conventional learning, and there is no relationship mathematical literacy and self-esteem of students in mathematics.
