Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan penalaran adaptif siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) untuk mengetahui apakah peningkatan kemampuan penalaran adaptif siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran dengan model Project-Based Learning lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran konvensional (2) untuk mengetahui kualitas peningkatan kemampuan penalaran adaptif siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan model Project-Based Learning (3) untuk mengetahui bagaimana sikap siswa terhadap pembelajaran matemayika dengan menggunakan model Project-Based Learning. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen. Populasi dalam peneltian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII di salah satu sekolah menengah pertama di Cimahi tahun ajaran 2015/2016 dan sampel pada penelitian ini adalah siswa dari dua kelas pada sekolah tersebut, yang mana satu kelas sebagai kelas eksperimen dan satu kelas lainnya sebagai kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model Project-Based Learning dan kelas kontrol memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model konvensional. Data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan penalaran adaptif siwa, angket, lembar observasi, dan jurnal harian. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: (1) terdapat peningkatan kemampuan penalaran adaptif siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran dengan model Project-Based Learning lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran dengan model konvensional. (2) Kualitas peningkatan kemampuan penalaran adaptif siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran dengan model Project-Based Learning berada pada tingkat sedang. (3) siswa memberikan sikap positif terhadap model Project-Based Learning. ----------The background of this study is the lack of adaptive reasoning ability of students. The purpose of this study were: (1) finding out whether there was an improvement difference in adaptive reasoning ability of student who acquired learning with Project-Based Learning than student who acquired conventional model. (2) finding out the quality improvement of adaptive reasoning ability of student who acquired learning with Project-Based Learning. (3) finding out students’ responses toward the implementation of learning mathematics through Project-Based Learning model. The population in this study were the eighth graders of a Junior High School in Cimahi academic year 2015/2016 and the sample of this study were students from two classes at the school, in which one class was experiment class and the another class was control class. Experiment class acquired learning with Project-Based Learning model and control class acquiredlearning with conventional model. The research data wasobtained from students’ adaptive reasoning ability test, questiobbaire, observation sheet, and daily jurnal. The result of this study were: (1) there was improvement difference in adaptive reasoning ability of students who acquired learning with ProjectBased Learning model than students who acquired learning with conventional model (2)the quality improvement of adaptive reasoning ability of student who acquired learning with Project-Based Learning is at medium level. (3) the students gave positive responses towards the use of Project-Based Learning model.
