Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkapkan profil communication style dan penguasaan konsep materi sistem reproduksi siswa menggunakan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 19 Kota Bandung dengan sampel kelas XI MIA 5. Communication style yang diungkapkan melalui lembar observasi dan lembar self assessment ini terdiri dari jenis pasif, asertif dan agresif dengan delapan deskriptor yaitu berbicara dan mendengarkan, sensitifitas, pengambilan keputusan, pemilihan waktu, kesesuaian waktu/topik, resolusi konflik, refleksi dan kepemimpinan. Penguasaan konsep siswa terhadap materi sistem reproduksi diukur dengan menggunakan soal pre-test dan post-test. Penelitian ini dilakukan karena dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya penggunaan metode pembelajaran aktif yang dapat meningkatkan aktifitas siswa dalam berkomunikasi, interaksi, dan terlibat langsung dalam proses belajar mengajar.Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian adalah metode deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 45,5% siswa memiliki communication style asertif, 28,4% siswa memiliki communication style pasif dan 26,4% siswa memiliki communication style agresif. Rata-rata penguasaan konsep siswa sebelum pembelajaran yaitu 44,19, dan setelah pembelajaran adalah sebesar 76,13. Peningkatan penguasaan konsep memiliki kategori sedang dengan nilai N-gain sebesar 0,57. Setelah dilakukan uji Chi-Kuadrat independen antara dua faktor diperoleh bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan antara communication style dan penguasaan konsep siswa. Respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran diukur dengan menggunakan angket, dan diperoleh persentase sebesar 79,83% siswa merespon setuju terhadap penggunaan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw pada materi sistem reproduksi. ---------- The purpose of this study was to reveal the profile of communication style and student concept mastery about reproduction system using cooperative learning type jigsaw. This study was conducted in SMA Negeri 19 Bandung with a sample that is used is a class XI MIA 5. Student communication style revealed by observation sheet and self-assessment sheet consist of passive, assertive and aggressive with eight descriptor that are speaking and listening, sensitivity, timing, focus on topic, conflict resolution, reflection and leadership. The concept of student mastery reproduction system measured using about pre-test and post-test. The background of this study is the lack of using active learning method to improved students communication, interaction, and students involvement in teaching learning process. Descriptive method is constructed this study. The result showed that 45,5% students have assertive communication style, 28,4% have passive communication style and 26,4% students have aggressive communication style. Students concept mastery average before using cooperative learning type jigsaw is 44,9 and after learning is 76,13. The achievement scores of students concept mastery including medium category with N-gain scores is 0,57. After counted by Chi-Kuadrat independent between two variables test, the result showed that is no correlations between communication style and students concept mastery. The response of students measured by questionnaire, the result is 79,83% students gived agree response about using cooperative learning type jigsaw on concept reproduction system.
