Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi perbedaan peningkatan penguasaan konsep siswa SMA melalui pembelajaran discovery learning pada pokok bahasan enzim. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada siswa kelas XII MAN Ciparay Bandung. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode quasy eksperimen. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa soal pretest dan posttest yang berjumlah 25 soal, serta lembar observasi keterlaksanaan sintaks pembelajaran discovery learning. Pengolahan data meliputi pemberian skor, tabulasi, uji prasyarat, uji hipotesis dan analisis indeks gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara nilai rata-rata penguasaan konsep kelas eksperimen sebelum dan setelah diterapkan pembelajaran discovery learning dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa N-Gain kelas eksperimen yaitu sebesar 0,44 dan termasuk kategori sedang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan N-Gain kelas kontrol sebesar 0,29 yang masuk dalam kategori rendah. Keterlaksanaan tahapan pembelajaran discovery learning pada pokok bahasan enzim terlaksana dengan baik pada tahapan observation, manipulation dan verification serta terlaksana dengan cukup pada tahapan generalization dan application.---------- This study aimed to identifiy the difference of senior high school student concept understanding through discovery learning in subconcept enzyme. This study was done on class XII Senior High School Islamic I (MANI) Ciparay Bandung. The method used quasy experiment. Instrument used was a pretest and posttes contains twenty five question, observation sheets of feasibility syntax of discovery learning. Data processing include scoring, tabulation, test prerequisities, test hypotheses, and index gain analysis. The result showed significant difference in average value of senior school concept understanding before and after discovery learning. The results showed that at experiment class has a higher index gain with 0,44 and it was in in average category than control class with index gain 0,29 and it was in low category. Then, feasibility syntax of discovery learning was very good from stages observation, manipulation and verification while it was enough from generalization and application.
