Abstract

Penelitian ini didasarkan pada permasalahan masih rendah dan jarangnya guru memberikan variasi stimulus (stimulus variation) yang dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan prestasi siswa dalam pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis keterampilan guru melakukan variasi stimulus dengan berbagai profil pada pembelajaran di Sekolah Dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif yang dilakukan di SDN Cisalak dan SDN 2 Cibeber Kecamatan Cibeber, Kabupaten Cianjur. Subyek penelitian adalah delapan guru dengan profil berbeda. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, studi dokumentasi, dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan baru sebagian guru yang mampu memberikan variasi stimulus pada pembelajaran di Sekolah Dasar. Pada keterampilan melakukan variasi gaya mengajar yang menunjukkan kualitas variasi gaya mengajar yang baik adalah guru dengan profil; golongan kepangkatan III, berumur di bawah 40 tahun, masa kerja di bawah 20 tahun, dan tugas mengajar di kelas tinggi. Pada keterampilan melakukan variasi penggunaan media dan alat bantu pembelajaran, yang menunjukkan kualitas variasi penggunaan media dan alat bantu yang baik adalah guru dengan profil; golongan kepangkatan III, berumur di bawah 40 tahun, masa kerja diatas 20 tahun, dan tugas mengajar di kelas tinggi. Pada keterampilan melakukan variasi dalam pola interaksi dan kegiatan siswa yang menunjukkan kualitas variasi pola interaksi yang baik adalah guru dengan profil; golongan kepangkatan III, berumur diatas 40 tahun, masa kerja di bawah 20 tahun, tugas mengajar di kelas tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, direkomendasikan perlu memberikan kesempatan dan memotivasi guru agar dapat meningkatkan keterampilan dalam memberikan variasi stimulus (stimulus variation) pada pelaksanaan pembelajaran karena variasi stimulus yang diberikan guru berpengaruh terhadap motivasi untuk meningkatkan prestasi dan kualitas pembelajaran. Kata kunci: Keterampilan guru, variasi stimulus (Stimulus variation)   This study is based on problem that teachers seldom give stimulus variation which can enhance students’ motivation and achievement. The aim of study is to analyze teacher skill in doing stimulus variation with various profiles in learning in Elementary School. The method of study used is descriptive analysis which is done in SDN Cisalak and SDN 2 Cibeber, Cibeber Sub District, Cianjur Regency. The subject of study are eight teachers with different profile. Data collection technique through observation, interview, documentary study and bibliography study. The result of study show that only few teachers who capable to give stimulus variation in learning in Elementary School. In skill of doing teaching style variation which show good quality in teaching style variation are teachers with profile: rank- III category, age under 40 years old, year of service is under 20 years, and teaching task in higher class. In skill of doing media usage variation and learning aid which show good quality are teachers with profile: rank-III category, age under 40 years old, year of service up to 20 years, and teaching task in higher class. In skill in doing variation doing in student’s interaction and activity pattern which show good quality are teachers with profile: rank-III category, age above 40 years old, year of service under 20 years, teaching task in higher class. Based on result of study, it is recommended that there is need to give opportunity and motivating teachers in order to able to enhance their skills in giving stimulus variation in learning implementation because stimulus variation which is given by teacher is influential to motivation in enhancing achievement and learning quality.
