Abstract

Pendidikan di Indonesia cenderung menyiapkan anak cerdas secara intelektual. Akibatnya banyak orang pintar yang tidak benar perilakunya. Hal ini mengindikasikan pendidikan belum mampu mengembangkan aspek afektif secara optimal, sehingga harapan untuk mewujudkan manusia yang seutuhnya melalui pendidikan masih perlu mendapat perhatian khusus, dengan menerapkan pendidikan karakter. IPDN merupakan perguruan tinggi yang menerapkan pendidikan melalui pendekatan tritunggal terpusat (pengajaran, pelatihan dan pengasuhan), dimana fokus pendidikan karakter dilakukan melalui pengasuhan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkap dan merumuskan konsep manusia utuh melalui pendidikan karakter berbasis pengasuhan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode grounded theory dan menggunakan teknik analisis data yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan kesimpulan. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam dan kajian dokumentasi. Temuan penelitian meliputi (1) profil IPDN, yang dikaji dari sejarah IPDN, visi misi, lambang, fasilitas kampus, dan sistem pendidikan yang diterapkan, mengindikasikan bahwa IPDN adalah lembaga pendidikan yang berkarakter; (2) pola pendidikan karakter melalui pengasuhan meliputi: metode, tahapan, kurikulum, dan petadupra; (3) aktivitas pengasuhan untuk ketakwaan, etika, komunikasi, penalaran, dan fisik; (4) nilai yang terbentuk melalui pengasuhan mencakup nilai skala individu dan skala komunitas serta pembobotan nilai. Penulis berhasil mengkonstruksi konsep manusia utuh: terkait dimensi ruang, waktu, fenomena, unsur, nilai skala individu dan komunitas serta bobot nilai. Pendidikan karakter melalui pengasuhan diharapkan menjadi penguatan dan keseksamaan yang diandalkan untuk pendidikan dalam rangka membentuk manusia seutuhnya. Kata kunci : Pendidikan karakter, pengasuhan, manusia utuh Education in Indonesia in general tend to prepare the child for smart intellectually. This indicates that education has not been able to develop an optimal affective aspect, so the hopes to forming intact person through education still needs special attention by implementing character education. IPDN is the official college that apply character education through a unified trinity approach (teaching, training and nurturing), where the focus of the character education is done through nurturing. This research aims to uncover and formulate the concept of character education through nurturing to form a intact person. This study used a qualitative approach with grounded theory methods and use data collection techniques from Miles and Huberman namely : data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Data collected by participatory observation, interview and documentation Study. The research findings include (1) IPDN profile of the history, vision, mission, emblem, campus facilities, and an education system that is applied indicates that IPDN is a character educational institutions; (2) the patterns of character education through nurturing in IPDN include : methods, the stages, the curriculum, and the life regulations of praja; (3) nurturing activities for piety, ethics, communication, reasoning, and physical; (4) value that created through nurturing include individual scale and community scale and the weighting value. The author succeeded in formulating the intact concept : related dimensions of space, time, phenomenon, element, individual and community scale value and weight value. Character education through nurturing hopely can be a strengthening and precision that are relied for education in order to form the intact human beings.
