Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena rendahnya tingkat kesadaran diri individu yang merasa tidak mengenal dirinya, mudah cemas, tidak percaya diri, selalu menyalahkan lingkungan di sekitarnya, kurang bertanggungjawab dan tidak memiliki komitmen untuk mencapai tujuan hidupnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan self awareness peserta didik melalui bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik role playing. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian pretest-posttest design non equivalent. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner self awareness berdasarkan teori Thomas Shelley Duval, Paul Silvia dan Neal Lalwani (2001). Partisipan penelitian adalah 30 peserta didik kelas XII SMA Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung dengan self awareness kategori rendah yang dibagi kedalam kelompok eksperimen (8 L : 8 P) dan kelompok kontrol (7 L : 7 P). Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik non probability sampling. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji perbandingan 2 rata-rata Wilcoxon dan Man Whitney test. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan skor self awareness assessment setelah diberikan perlakuan bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik role playing. Karena p value 0,002 < 0,05 (α), maka disimpulkan bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik role playing efektif untuk peningkatan self awareness peserta didik. Kata Kunci: teknik role playing, self awareness, bimbingan kelompok. This research based on phenomenon an individual who had a lower level of awareness, felt anxious, insecure, always blaming others, less responsible and did not have the commitment to achieve the goals of their life. This study aimed to increase student’s self awareness through group guidance with role playing techniques. This research used a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental method pretest-posttest design non equivalent. Data was collected by self awareness questionnaires based on theory of Thomas Shelley Duval, Paul Silvia dan Neal Lalwani (2001). Study participants were 30 students of 12th grade High School Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung who had indicates lower self awareness categories and divided into experimental group (8 M : 8 F) and control group (7 M : 7 F). The research samples was done by using non probability sampling and used difference between two means Wilcoxon and Man Whitney technique analysis. The result showed that group guidance with role playing technique was effective to increase student’s self-awareness, because p value 0,002 < 0,05 (α).
