Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana kemampuan siswa dalam ranah kognitif setelah siswa dilibatkan dalam proses penilaian diri (self-assessment) dan mendapatkan tes kemampuan kognitif dalam materi alat optik. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian deskriptif karena bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan kognitif siswa setelah diterapkan self-assessment dan tes kemampuan kognitif. Langkah-langkah penelitian yang diterapkan menggunakan alur yang dimulai dari fase persiapan, implementasi, follow-up dan evaluasi serta replika. Berdasarkan hasil self-assessment siswa didapat bahwa pada tingkat kognitif C1 terdapat 51,67% siswa yang menyatakan mampu, pada tingkat kognitif C2 terdapat 47,62% siswa yang menyatakan mampu, pada tingkat kognitif C3 terdapat 58,33% siswa yang menyatakan mampu dan pada tingkat kognitif C4 terdapat 45,83%siswa yang menyatakan mampu. Tetapi menurut hasil tes kemampuan kognitif terdapat 81,67% siswa mampu menjawab dengan benar item soal pada tingkat kognitif C1, 79,76% siswa pada tingkat kognitif C2, 63,54% siswa pada tingkat kognitif C3 dan 55,20% siswa pada tingkat kognitif C4. Nilai persentase hasil tes kemampuan kognitif lebih besar jika dibandingkan dengan nilai persentase hasil self-assessment, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa telah mampu memperbaiki kekurangannya setelah menilai dirinya sendiri. Dengan demikian penerapan self-assessment dalam proses pembelajaran berdampak pada kemampuan kognitif siswa selama proses pembelajaran, karena siswa mendapat kesempatan untuk menilai kemampuannya sendiri sehingga mampu memantau perkembangan kemampuan belajarnya. Kata kunci : Self-Assessment, Kemampuan Kognitif, Alat Optik This study aims to see how the students’ cognitive ability after they are involved in the self-assessment process and they get cognitive ability test of optical instrument concept. This study was using descriptive research method because the purpose was to described students’ cognitive ability after application of self-assessment and cognitive ability test. The steps of this study was using flow that started from preparation phase, implementation, follow-up and evaluation and then replication. Based on the results of students’ self-assessment there was 51,67% students state that they are able to solve the problems in cognitive level C1, 47,62% students in cognitive level C2, 58,33% students in cognitive level C3 and 45,83% students cognitive level C4. But based on the result of cognitive ability test there was 81,67% students are able to answer the items in cognitive level C1 correctly, 79,76% students in cognitive level C2, 63,54% students in cognitive level C3 and 55,20% students in cognitive level C4. The percentage value of cognitive ability test result was bigger if it was compared with the percentage value of self-assessment result, it showed that students were have been able to correct their deficiencies after assesing themselves. Therefore application of self-assessment on learning process affect the students’ cognitive abilities during their learning process, because students have the ooportunity to assess their own abilities so that they can monitor the progress of their learning ability.
