Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) praktikum berdasarkan model inkuiri terbimbing pada topik polimer melalui percobaan pembuatan lem kayu dan memperoleh informasi mengenai kualitas serta kelayakan LKS yang dikembangkan. Langkah penelitian yang dilakukan yaitu studi pendahuluan terdiri dari studi kepustakaan, survei lapangan, dan penyusunan produk awal serta pengembangan model berupa uji coba terbatas. Sumber data pada penelitian ini adalah sekolah, bahan ajar (buku, LKS, dan petunjuk praktikum), siswa SMA kelas XII di Kota Bandung, guru kimia SMA, serta dosen Departemen Pendidikan Kimia Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar analisis LKS praktikum, rancangan optimasi prosedur praktikum, pedoman wawancara, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan praktikum, lembar penilaian LKS oleh dosen dan guru, pedoman penilaian jawaban siswa terhadap tugas LKS, dan angket respon siswa. Hasil penelitian pada tahap studi pendahuluan menunjukkan bahwa keberadaan LKS praktikum pada topik polimer masih jarang tersedia pada bahan ajar yang digunakan oleh siswa. Dari 10 bahan ajar yang dikaji hanya ada satu bahan ajar yang menyediakan LKS praktikum pada topik polimer ini. Karakteristik LKS praktikum untuk topik polimer dalam bahan ajar yang tersedia masih berupa cookbook. LKS praktikum yang dikembangkan berisi percobaan pembuatan polimer termoseting dan identifikasi polimer termoseting dengan kondisi optimum menggunakan 10 ml formaldehid 37%, 3,5 gram urea dan 2 tetes asam sulfat 8M. Hasil penelitian pada tahap pengembangan model menunjukan bahwa kelayakan LKS praktikum yang dikembangkan berdasarkan keterlaksanaan tahap-tahap inkuiri siswa adalah sangat baik (100%) dan jawaban siswa adalah sangat baik (86,9%). Penilaian guru terhadap kualitas LKS praktikum yang dikembangkan berdasarkan aspek kesesuaian konsep dan aspek kesesuaian tata bahasa termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik dengan rata-rata persentase skor masing-masing 91,3% dan 84%. Respon siswa terhadap kemudahan penggunaan LKS praktikum yang dikembangkan termasuk dalam kategori baik (73,8%) dan respon siswa terhadap kepuasan praktikum dengan menggunakan LKS praktikum yang dikembangkan termasuk dalam kategori baik (75,4%). The aim of this research was to develop guided inquiry lab-based student worksheet in polymer topic by making wood adhesive and knowing the quality and eligibility of worksheet that is being developed. Research steps conducted a preliminary studies consisted of literature studies, field surveys, and preparation of the initial product and development of the model such as limited testing. Data sources in this study were schools, teaching materials (books, worksheets and practical work instructions), senior high school students of class XII in Bandung, senior high school chemistry teachers, and chemistry lecturers of FPMIPA UPI. Research instruments used were a sheet analysis for lab worksheets, interview guides, experiment feasibility observation sheets, assessment guidelines for student’s answers related to the worksheet tasks, student questionnaire responses, and assessment sheets given to teachers and lecturers. The results from preliminary studies showed that the existency of polymer lab worksheet is rarely found in teaching materials used by student. From 10 teaching materials were studied, only one teaching material that provided polymer lab worksheet. The characteristic of polymer lab worksheet in available teaching material was still in the direct instruction form (cookbook). The developed lab worksheet provide experiment for making and identifiying termoset polymer with optimum condition are 10 ml formaldehyde 37%, 3,5 gram urea, and 2 drops sulfuric acid 8M. The results from development of the model showed that eligibility of the developed lab-worksheet based inquiry stage feasibility included into very good category (100%) and student’s answer were very good category (86,9%). The evaluation of teachers and lecturers of the developed student worksheet based on the suitability of the polymer concept and the suitability of the terms of language (grammar) were very good 91,3% and 84%. Students’ responses of the easiness using the developed worksheet ainclude into good category (73,8%) and student‘s responses of the satisfaction using the developed worksheet include into good category(75, 4%)
