Abstract

Penelitian ini diangkat dari studi pendahuluan mengenai kemampuan berbicara dan berbahasa anak down syndrome. Berdasarkan studi pendahuluan yang telah dilakukan, didapat informasi bahwa anak down syndrome termasuk kategori anak tunagrahita sedang yang memiliki hambatan kecerdasan, hal ini berpengaruh terhadap terhambatnya dalam kemampuan berbahasa diantaranya kemampuan kosakata. Subjek adalah anak down syndrome berinisial NAS yang duduk di kelas I SDLB-C Bina Bangsa Cianjur yang memiliki kemampuan kosakata yang rendah, untuk meningkatkan kosakata pada anak down syndrome, peneliti menggunakan media adobe Flashyang merupakan media animasi komputer yang menarik anak dan memotivasi anak untuk belajar. Tujuan penelitian iniuntuk memperoleh informasi dan gambaran peningkan kemampuan kosakata anak down syndrome melaui media adobe flash, Metode penelitian yang dipakai adalah single subject research dengan menggunakan desain A-B-A, Data yang diperoleh melalui statistik deskriptif, dan ditampilkan melalui grafik. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa meningkatnya presentase kemampuan kosakata setelah penggunaan media Adobe Flash. Pada fase baseline (A-1) subjek NAS menunjukkan adanya peningkatan. Peningkatan mean level kemampuan kosakata pada subjek NAS terlihat kenaikannya dari 36% pada fase baseline-1 (A-1) naik menjadi 78,2% pada fase intervensi, dan meningkat kembali pada fase baseline-2 menjadi 92%. Melihat peningkatan tersebut, maka penelitian dapat disimpulan bahwa adanya peningkatan kemampuan kosakata pada anak down syndromemelalui media adobe flash di SLB ABC Bina Bangsa Cianjur. This research taken from a preliminary study of the speech and language of children with Down syndrome. Based on preliminary studies that have been done, obtained information that the child belongs to the category of children with Down syndrome who has a moderate mental retardation barriers intelligence, it affects to inhibition in language skills including vocabulary skills. Subjects in this reasearch, conducted in one subject to child with down syndrome with initials is NAS who seat in first Class-C Bina Bangsa SDLB Cianjur whom has low ability. To improve vocabulary of the children with Down syndrome, researchers used adobe flash media is a medium of computer animation that appeal to children and motivate children to learn, researchers using adobe flash media which is computer-animated media that appeal to children and motivate children to learn. The purpose of this research is inproving vocabulary skills of children with down syndrome. The research method used is Single subject research using A-B-A design. Data obtained through descriptive statistic and displayed by graph. The result of research is showed that increasing the pescentage of vocabulary skills after using adobe flash media. In the phaseof baseline phase (A-1), the subject with initial NAS has showed an enhancement. The anhacement of mean level vocabulary skillson teh subject NAS seen grow up from 36% in the phase of baseline -1 (A-1), increased to 78,2% at intervention phase, and grow up again on the baseline-2 phase of 92%. Seeing the anhacement, the reseach can be concluded that the improvement level in vocabulary skills of children with Down Syndrome through adobe flash media in SDLB Bina Bangsa Cianjur.
