Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan profil literasi sains siswa pada tema efek rumah kaca. Subjek penelitian yaitu 68 siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan rubrik penilaian kinerja proses dan produk, soal tes literasi sains, skala sikap, lembar angket, dan catatan lapangan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif. Dalam penelitian ini profil siswa diungkap melalui pengerjaan task dalam pembelajaran IPA Terpadu tema efek rumah kaca. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian profil literasi sains siswa SMP Kelas VII yang diungkap melalui tes diperoleh capaian rerata sebesar 29.8% pada aspek konten dan proses sains dengan kategori kurang sekali. Capaian untuk tiap indikator kompetensi literasi sains yang mencakup mengidentifikasi isu ilmiah, menjelaskan fenomena ilmiah dan menggunakan bukti ilmiah berturut-turut sebesar 34.0%, 25.7% dan 28.3% seluruhnya dengan kategori kurang sekali. Profil literasi sains siswa SMP Kelas VII yang diungkap melalui asesmen kinerja menunjukkan capaian rerata 35.4% dengan kategori kurang sekali pada aspek konten dan proses sains. Capaian untuk indikator mengidentifikasi isu ilmiah, menjelaskan fenomena ilmiah dan menggunakan bukti ilmiah berturut-turut sebesar 9.1%, 42.7%, dan 10.8% juga dengan kategori kurang sekali. Nilai rerata sikap sains siswa sebesar 76.0 termasuk kategori baik. Sikap mendukung inkuiri sains, kepercayaan diri sebagai pebelajar sains, tanggungjawab terhadap sumber daya alam dan lingkungan berada pada kategori cukup dengan rerata nilai berturut-turut sebesar 71.2, 74.5, dan 74.1. Sementara minat siswa terhadap sains berada pada kategori baik dengan rerata nilai sebesar 80.0. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa profil literasi sains siswa SMP Kelas VII pada tema efek rumah kaca berada pada kategori kurang sekali untuk aspek konten dan proses sains, sementara sikap sains siswa berada pada kategori baik. This study aims to describe students scientific literacy profile on greenhouse effect theme. The subjects were 68 students of seventh grade junior high school in Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Data was collected using a performance assessment rubric, scientific literacy test, attitude scale, questionnaire sheet, and field notes. This study used descriptive research method. The profile revealed through the tasks in integrated science learning on greenhouse effect theme. Research results show that students scientific literacy profile through the tests is very low category with the average of 29.8% at scientific content and scientific process. Achievement for each scientific literacy competencies indicator that include identify scientific issues, explaining scientific phenomena and using scientific evidence, in a row by 34.0%, 25.7% and 28.3% with very low category. Students scientific literacy profile through performance assessment shows very low category with performance average 35.4% at scientific content and scientific process. Achievement for each scientific literacy competencies indicator that include identify scientific issues, explaining scientific phenomena and using scientific evidence in a row by 9.1%, 42.7%, and 10.8% also with very low category. The mean value of students attitude towards science were 76.0 with good category. The mean value of attitudes for each indicators such as support for scientific enquiry, self-belief as science learners, and responsibility towards resources and environments in a row by 71.2, 74.5, and 74.1 with fair category. While the students' interest in science mean value is 80.0 with good category. It can be concluded that the scientific literacy profile of seventh grade junior high school students on greenhouse effect theme shows very low category at scientific content and scientific process, while students attitude towards science were good category.
