Abstract

Latar belakang dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa dalam mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran sejarah. Salah satu cara meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa adalah dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran yang variatif, diantaranya menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Talking stick. Penelitian ini menjawab pertanyaan yang telah dirumuskan, yaitu : “bagaimana pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Talking Stick terhadap peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Sejarah di SMK Puragabaya?”. Secara khusus masalah tersebut dirumuskan sebagai berikut: 1) apakah terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan motivasi belajar intrinsik siswa antara yang diterapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Talking Stick dengan model pembelajaran konvensional pada mata pelajaran sejarah? 2) Apakah terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan motivasi belajar ekstrinsik siswa antara yang diterapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Talking Stick dengan model pembelajaran konvensional pada mata pelajaran sejarah? Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa angket motivasi belajar. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan t independent sample test. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Talking Stick berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa aspek intrinsik dan ekstrinsik pada mata pelajaran sejarah. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan saran kepada guru dan peneliti selanjutnya untuk menerapkan model yang variatif dalam proses pembelajaran seperti model pembelajaran kooperatif Talking Stick dalam rangka meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Background in this research is the low learning motivation of students in learning activities follow history. One of the ways to improve student learning is motivation by applying a model of learning, including markedly using cooperative learning model type Talking stick. This study answers the question that has been formulated, namely: "how the influence of the application of cooperative learning model type Talking Stick to increased student learning motivation on subjects of history at SMK Puragabaya?". Specifically the problem is formulated as follows: 1) if there is a significant difference between the study of the intrinsic motivation of students who applied learning model cooperative type of Talking Stick with conventional learning model on subjects of history? 2) whether there is a significant difference of motivation extrinsic study of students between cooperative learning model of applied type Talking Stick with conventional learning model on subjects of history? This research uses a quantitative approach, quasi experimental methods research design with Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Research instrument used in this research is the now the motivation to learn. Hypothesis testing using independent samples t test. The conclusions derived from this research is the application of the cooperative learning model type Talking Stick effect on improvement of student learning motivation intrinsic and extrinsic aspects on subjects of history. The results of this research to give advice to teachers and researchers next to apply the model to vary markedly in the learning process as a learning model cooperative Talking Stick in order to increase the motivation of learning students.
