Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil observasi di SMA Negeri 11 Bandung yang memiliki beberapa masalah pada saat proses pembelajaran. Salah satunya rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran sejarah. Hal tersebut terlihat dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar siswa cenderung merasa bosan dan melakukan aktifitas di luar pembelajaran sejarah. Oleh karenanya, menuntut guru untuk mengatasi permasalahan dalam pembelajaran sejarah. Berangkat dari permasalahan di atas, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa pada pembelajaran sejarah. Untuk mewujudkannya, peneliti menerapkan media karikatur sebagai media yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Pada penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas (classroom action research) dengan mengadopsi model spiral Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart. Adapun kegiatan yang dilakukan terdiri dari perencanaan, tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Subjek dalam pengumpulan adalah siswa kelas XII IPA 7 SMA Negeri 11 Bandung. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan lembar observasi guru dan siswa, studi dokumentasi dan wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil temuan di lapangan, setelah diterapkannya media karikatur dalam pembelajaran sejarah, menunjukkan adanya peningkatan dari motivasi belajar siswa. Berdasarkan tiga siklus yang dilakukan, peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa terjadi pada siklus kedua dan ketiga. Pada siklus pertama, siswa kurang bisa memahami gambar karikatur disebabkan karena wajah tokoh karikatur masih kurang bagus sehingga menyulitkan siswa untuk mengenali karikatur tersebut. Pada siklus kedua, media karikatur ditampilkan di infocus dengan wajah tokoh karikatur sudah lebih bagus sehingga antusiasme siswa dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar menjadi lebih baik, namun masih ditemukan juga siswa yang tidak serius selama proses kegiatan belajar mengajar sehingga pada siklus ketiga media karikatur tidak lagi ditampilkan melalui infocus, tetapi dibagikan langsung ke masing-masing kelompok sehingga siswa bisa lebih serius selama mengikuti pembelajaran dan tidak ada lagi siswa yang melakukan kegiatan di luar pembelajaran. Berdasarkan uraian tersebut, pembelajaran dengan menggunakan media karikatur dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran sejarah. Melihat hasil yang diperoleh, dapat disimpulkan bahwa proses pembelajaran dengan menggunakan media karikatur bisa menjadi solusi untuk menjawab permasalahan pada pembelajaran sejarah di kelas. The research begins from observation in SMAN 11 Bandung which have some problems during the learning process. One is the low student motivation on the subjects of history. This is evident in the teaching and learning activities of students tend to feel tired and do activities outside the teaching of history. Therefore, requires teachers to overcome the problems in the teaching of history. Departing from the above problems, this research aims to increase students' motivation in learning history. To that end, researchers applied the media caricature as a medium used to increase students' motivation. In this study, researchers used a method of classroom action research (classroom action research) to adopt a spiral model Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. The activities consist of planning, action, observation and reflection. Subjects in the collection is a student of class XII IPA 7 SMAN 11 Bandung. Data collection techniques performed using observation sheet teachers and students, study documentation and interviews. Based on the findings in the field, after the implementation of the media caricature of teaching history, showing an increase of students' motivation. Based on the three cycles are performed, increase student motivation occurs in the second and third cycles. In the first cycle, students are less able to understand caricature due to facial caricature figures are still not good enough to make it difficult for students to recognize these caricatures. In the second cycle, the media caricature shown in infocus with facial caricature figures had better so that the enthusiasm of the students in learning activities to be better, but still found also students who are not serious during the process of learning so that the third cycle of the media caricature is no longer displayed through infocus, but distributed directly to each group so that students can be more serious during the study and no more students who engage in activities outside lessons. Based on these descriptions, learning by using the media caricature can increase students' motivation in learning history. Seeing the results obtained, it can be concluded that the process of learning by using the media caricature can be a solution to address the problems in the teaching of history in the classroom.
