Abstract
Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang penerapan pembelajaran matematika melalui strategi REACT untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa SMP. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain yang digunakan adalah “Nonequivalent Control Group Design”. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 38 orang di kelas eksperimen dan 38 orang di kelas kontrol. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran matematika melalui strategi REACT dan siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran matematika konvensional serta untuk mendeskripsikan respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika melalui strategi REACT. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes tertulis kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, angket dan lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran melalui strategi REACT lebih baik daripada siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran matematika konvensional serta sebagian besar siswa menunjukkan respon positif setelah mengikuti pembelajaran matematika melalui strategi REACT. This research examines the application of mathematics learning through REACT strategy to improve mathematical problem-solving ability junior high school students. This research is a quasi experimental with design using "Nonequivalent Control Group Design ". The subjects of this research were 38 people in the experimental class and 38 in the control class. This research aims to describe the increase in mathematical problem-solving ability of students who received learning mathematics through REACT strategy and students who received conventional mathematics learning as well as to describe the response of students towards learning mathematics through REACT strategy. The research instrument was used a written test mathematical problem solving ability, questionnaires and observation sheets. The results showed that the increase in mathematical problem-solving ability of students who take lessons through the REACT strategy better than students who take conventional mathematics learning and most students showed a positive response after participating in learning mathematics through REACT strategy.
