Abstract
Penelitian ini berjudul “Pengaruh Penerapan Pembelajaran Berbasis Zone of Proximal Development Terhadap Pemahaman Konsep Berdasarkan Gender Pada Materi Hidrolisis Garam” yang dilakukan di salah satu SMAN wilayah Kota Bandung dengan melibatkan 61 orang siswa SMA kelas XI. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh informasi dan gambaran tentang penerapan pembelajaran berbasis konsep Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) berbantuan teks perubahan konseptual materi hidrolisis garam terhadap pemahaman konsep berdasarkan gender. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasi Eksperimental dengan desain Nonequivalen Control Group Desain. Instrumen penelitian berupa butir soal dan pedoman wawancara yang menggali tingkat pemahaman konsep pada level makroskopik, submikroskopik, dan simbolik serta pendapat mengenai penerapan pembelajaran berbasis ZPD pada materi hidrolisis garam berdasarkan perbedaan gender. Melalui penerapan pembelajaran berbasis ZPD dan yang tidak berbasis ZPD pada materi hidrolisis garam ditemukan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dalam efektivitas peningkatan pemahaman konsep level makroskopik antara siswa laki-laki dan perempuan kelompok kontrol dengan taraf signifikansi (p=0,498) dan kelompok eksperimen (p=0,507). Pada level submikroskopik ditemukan pula tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara siswa laki-laki dan perempuan pada kelompok kontrol (p=0,105) dan kelompok eksperimen (t=0,890). Pada level simbolik tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara siswa laki-laki dan perempuan kelompok kontrol (t=0,506) dan pada kelompok eksperimen (t=0,955). Kata kunci : ZPD, teks perubahan konseptual, pemahaman konsep, gender, hidrolisis garam. This study entitled "Effect of the Implementation of ZPD Based Learning Toward Understanding of Chemistry Concepts based on Gender in Salt Hydrolysis " are conducted in one of senior high school in Bandung which involving 61 students in third grade of natural science majors. The purpose of this study are to obtain information and an overview of the implementation of Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) concept based learning in salt hydrolysis toward the effectiveness of increasing students' understanding of the concept based on gender. This study used Quasi Experimental method and Nonequivalen Control Group as the design. The research instrument were in the form of items and interviewing guide which explores the level of concept understanding in macroscopic, submicroscopic and symbolic level along with the opinion of the implementation of ZPD based learning in the salt hydrolysis based on gender differences. Through the implementation of ZPD based learning in salt hydrolysis was found that there was no significant difference in the understanding of the concept of macroscopic levels between male and female students with the significance level in the control group (p=0,498) and in the experimental group (p=0,507). Then, in the submicroscopic level has found that there was no significant difference between male and female students in the control group (t=0.105) and the experimental group (t=0.890). Afterwards, in the symbolic level there was no significant difference between male and female students in the control group ( t = 0.506 ) and the experimental group (t=0.955).
