Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan kepedulian lingkungan siswa antara siswa diberi pembelajaran IPA terpadu model integrated dengan model networked menggunakan Socioscientific Issues. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri di Kota Stabat Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen dengan desain non randomaized static group pretest-postest design. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan soal kemampuan pemecahan masalah, skala sikap peduli lingkungan , lembar angket, format wawancara, dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran IPA terpadu menggunakan Socioscientific Issues sudah sesuai dengan yang direncanakan. Peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan peningkatan kepedulian lingkungan berbeda secara signifikan antara kelas yang memperoleh pembelajaran IPA terpadu model integrated dengan pembelajaran IPA terpadu model networked menggunakan Socioscientific Issues. Pembelajaran IPA terpadu model integrated menggunakan Socioscientific Issues dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dengan nilai gain 0,53(kategori sedang) dan sikap peduli lingkungan dengan nilai gain 0,35 (kategori sedang). Sedangkan pembelajaran IPA terpadu model networked menggunakan Socioscientific Issues dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dengan nilai gain 0,43 (kategori sedang) dan sikap peduli lingkungan dengan nilai gain 0,41 (kategori sedang). Guru dan siswa menanggapi positif terhadap pembelajaran IPA terpadu model integrated dan networked menggunakan Socioscientific Issues. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran IPA terpadu model integrated dan networked menggunakan Socioscientific Issues dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan kepedulian lingkungan siswa SMP dan memberikan hasil peningkatan yang berbeda. ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to determine differences increase in problem solving skills and environmental awareness among students given science learning integrated with the model of integrated and networked using socioscientific issues.The subjects were students of SMP in Stabat City Grade VII. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a non randomaized group pretest-posttest static design. Data was collected using a test of problems solving skill test, attitude scales, sheet questionnaire, interview format and feasibility study observation sheet. The results showed that the feasibility study with the integrated science with socioscientific issues was been implemented and it was planned. Increasing problem solving skill environmental awareness were different significantly between the class who taught science learning with integrated model using socioscientific issues and networked model . science learning with integrated model using socioscientific issues can improve student’s problem solving skill with gain value 0.53 (medium category) and environmental awareness attitude with gain value 0.41 (medium category). Meanwhile the science learning with networked model using socioscientific issues can improve student’s problem solving with gain value 0.43 (medium category) and environmental awareness attitude with gain value of 0.35 (medium category). Teachers and students show positive respond for implementation of an integrated science learning socioscientific issues. It can be concluded that integrated and networked science learning with socioscientific issues can be use to increase student’s problem solving skill and environmental awareness and gave the different result.
