Abstract
Mahasiswa sering kali menghadapi tekanan tinggi saat menyelesaikan proses pembelajaran, yang dapat memicu fenomena academic burnout. Salah satu faktor yang diyakini berperan dalam mengurangi dampak negatif tersebut adalah emotional intelligence (EI) atau kecerdasan emosional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil tingkat kecerdasan emosional dan tingkat academic burnout serta mengetahui pengaruh antara kecerdasan emosional terhadap tingkat academic burnout pada mahasiswa. Metode penelitian kuantitatif dipilih pada penelitian ini dengan pendekatan analisis statistik deskriptif dan regresi linier sederhana, data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire–Short Form (TEIQue-SF) dan Maslach Burnout Inventory–Student Survey (MBI-SS). Hasil analisis statistik deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa pada variabel kecerdasan emosional, sebesar 13,91% mahasiswa berada pada kategori rendah, 73,91% pada kategori sedang, dan 12,17% pada kategori tinggi. Sementara itu, pada variabel academic burnout, ditemukan 18,26% mahasiswa berada pada kategori rendah, 61,74% pada kategori sedang, dan 20% pada kategori tinggi. Hasil analisis regresi linier sederhana menunjukkan adanya pengaruh negatif yang signifikan antara kecerdasan emosional dan academic burnout, dengan persamaan regresi yang diperoleh adalah, yang berarti setiap peningkatan satu satuan kecerdasan emosional akan menurunkan skor academic burnout sebesar 0,689 satuan. Temuan ini memperkuat pentingnya pengembangan aspek emosional dalam pendidikan tinggi sebagai strategi preventif terhadap fenomena academic burnout. University students often encounter high levels of pressure throughout their academic journey, which can lead to the phenomenon of academic burnout. One factor that is believed to play a significant role in mitigating this negative impact is emotional intelligence (EI). This study aims to examine the profile levels of emotional intelligence and academic burnout among students, as well as to investigate the influence of emotional intelligence on academic burnout. A quantitative researchdesign was employed, utilizing descriptive statistical analysis and simple linear regression. Data were collected using the Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire–Short Form (TEIQue-SF) and the Maslach Burnout Inventory–Student Survey (MBI-SS). Descriptive statistical results indicated that, for the emotional intelligence variable, x% of students were categorized as low, 73,91% as moderate, and 12,17% as high. In terms of academic burnout, 18,26% of students were classified as low, 61,74% as moderate, and 20% as high. The results of the simple linear regression analysis revealed a significant negative relationship between emotional intelligence and academic burnout, with the regression equation Ŷ = 84.432 – 0.689X. This suggests that each one-unit increase in emotional intelligence corresponds to a 0.689-unit decrease in academic burnout. The results emphasize the need to integrate emotional competence development into higher education as a proactive approach to mitigating academic burnout.
