    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis bentuk strategi pembinaan karakter kinerja pada calon pekerja migran Indonesia yang akan bekerja di Jepang dengan menganut prinsip 5S (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, dan Shitsuke) dalam pembelajaran bahasa dan budaya Jepang di Lembaga Pelatihan Kerja. Desain penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode grounded theory. Setting sosial dilakukan di tiga Lembaga Pelatihan Kerja berbeda yaitu Lingua Global Utama, Palapa Muda Indonesia, dan Puspa Setya Abadi. Informan terdiri dari pengelola Lembaga Pelatihan Kerja sebagai sending organization, peserta pelatihan pelatihan calon tenaga kerja migran, dan pakar budaya Jepang. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan teknik coding yang terdiri dari, open coding, axial coding, dan selective coding. Penelitian menunjukkan temuan integrasi pembinaan karakter kerja dengan prinsip 5S (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, dan Shitsuke) tidak hanya menjadi materi teoritis, tetapi juga praktis seperti pembiasaan harian, evaluasi perilaku, penugasan praktik, hingga adanya keteladanan instruktur sebagai bagian pelatihan sistematis yang membentuk disposisi karakter kinerja. Pendekatan kontekstual berbasis realitas kerja budaya kerja Jepang dikolaborasikan dengan pendekatan experiential learning sejalan dengan konsep pendidikan sebagai pengalaman. Terdapat lima profil karakter kinerja yang muncul dalam proses pembinaan karakter melalui pembelajaran bahasa dan budaya Jepang kepada calon pekerja migran yang diinternalisasikan oleh LPK dalam pelatihan kerja diantaranya, (1) Disiplin waktu pada pekerjaan yang dikaitkan dengan nilai Shitsuke; (2) Kepatuhan pada standar kerja yang berlaku yang dikaitkan dengan nilai Seiketsu; (3) Tanggung jawab pada keteraturan dan kebersihan yang dikaitkan dengan nilai Seiso dan Seiketsu; (4) Etos kerja yang tinggi yang dikaitkan dengan nilai Shitsuke; dan Ketelitian dalam bekerja yang dikaitkan dengan nilai Seiri dan Seiton. Implikasi penelitian ini adalah pembinaan karakter kinerja dengan menganut prinsip 5S (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, dan Shitsuke) dijadikan landasan fondasi penting dalam mempersiapkan calon pekerja migran yang tidak memiliki kompetensi secara teknis, tetapi dapat adaptif dan memiliki mentalitas kerja. This study aims to analyze the form of performance character development strategies for prospective Indonesian migrant workers who will work in Japan by adhering to the 5S principles (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, and Shitsuke) in Japanese language and culture learning at Vocational Training Institutions. The research design uses a qualitative approach with a grounded theory method. The social setting was carried out at three different Vocational Training Institutions, Lingua Global Utama, Palapa Muda Indonesia, and Puspa Setya Abadi. Informants consisted of managers of Job Training Institutions as sending organizations, training participants for prospective migrant workers, and Japanese cultural experts. Data analysis was carried out using coding techniques consisting of open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. The study shows the findings of the integration of work character development with the 5S principles (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, and Shitsuke) not only as theoretical material, but also practical such as daily habits, behavioral evaluations, practical assignments, to the existence of instructor role models as part of systematic training that forms performance character dispositions. The contextual approach based on the reality of Japanese work culture is collaborated with the experiential learning approach in line with the concept of education as experience. There are five performance character profiles that emerge in the process of character development through learning Japanese language and culture to prospective migrant workers internalized by Vocational Training Institutions, including: (1) Time discipline at work which is associated with the value of Shitsuke; (2) Compliance with applicable work standards which is associated with the value of Seiketsu; (3) Responsibility for order and cleanliness which is associated with the values of Seiso and Seiketsu; (4) High work ethic which is associated with the value of Shitsuke; and Accuracy in work which is associated with the values of Seiri and Seiton. The implication of this research is that performance character development by adhering to the 5S principles (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, and Shitsuke) is used as an important foundation in preparing prospective migrant workers who do not have technical competence, but can be adaptive and have a work mentality.
