Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan menulis siswa sekolah dasar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan proses pembelajaran SAVI dan mengetahui kefektivan model SAVI berbantuan media digital dalam menulis karangan narasi argumentatif siswa. Peneliti juga membandingkan peningkatan kemampuan menulisan karangan narasi argumentatif antara kelas yang menggunakan model SAVI berbantuan media digital dengan pembelajaran biasa. Pendekatan pada penelitian ini yaitu metode kuantitatif dengan metode desain kuasi eksperimen, non-equivalent group pretest-postest. Sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu kelas IV pada dua sekolah di Kecamatan Karangtengah Kabupaten Garut. Data dihimpun melalui tes tulis berbentuk instruksi. Analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan statistik deskriptif untuk menyajikan data dan statistic inferensial menggunakan uji paired sample t-test dan uji independent sample t-test dengan menggunakan aplikasi SPSS versi 29 untuk menguji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan yang terlihat dalam uji paired sample t-test ( sig-value =0,001) dan perbedaan nilai sebelum dan sesudah diberikan treatment yaitu rata-rata nilai tes awal pada kelas esperimen yaitu 60,32 menjadi 83,72 setelah treatment sedangkan pada kelas kontrol nilai tes awal yaitu 59,96 menjadi 64,62 dengan pembelajaran tanpa treatment. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa model SAVI berbantuan media digital efektif dalam menulis karangan narasi argumentatif siswa sekolah dasar. Model ini direkomendasikan kepada guru di sekolah dasar, orangtua dan stake holder untuk menerapkan dalam pembelajaran di sekolah atau bimbingan dalam upaya meningkatkan kemampuan menulis karangan khususnya karangan narasi argumentatif di sekolah dasar. This study was motivated by the low writing ability of elementary school students. The purpose of this study is to describe the learning process and determine the effectiveness of SAVI model assisted by digital media in writing students' argumentative narrative essay. Researchers also compared the improvement of argumentative narrative essay writing ability between classes using SAVI models assisted by digital media with ordinary learning. The method used in this research is quantitative method with quasi experimental design, non-equivalent group pretest-post-tests. The samples in this study were class IV in two schools in Karangtengah District, Garut Regency. Data were collected through written tests in the form of instructions. Data analysis in this study used descriptive statistics to present data and inferential statistics using paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test using the SPSS version 29 application to test the hypothesis. The results showed a significant increase seen in the paired sample t-test (sig-value =0.001) and the difference in scores before and after treatment, namely the average initial test score in the experimental class of 60.32 to 83.72 after treatment while in the control class the initial test score was 59.96 to 64.62 with learning without treatment. These findings indicate that the SAVI model assisted by digital media is effective in writing a narrative essay. This model is recommended for elementary school teachers, parents, and stakeholders to apply in learning at school or guidance in an effort to improve writing skills, especially argumentative narrative writing in elementary schools.
