Abstract
Kemampuan berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu kompetensi penting yang harus dimiliki peserta didik. Namun kenyataannya masih rendah, pada hasil observasi awal menunjukkan siswa cenderung pasif, kurang mampu menghubungkan pelajaran geografi dengan fenomena yang terjadi di lingkungan sekitar, dan hanya berfokus pada hafalan materi karena pembelajaran masih sering menggunakan metode ceramah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan mind mapping terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi dinamika perairan darat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi experiment dan desain non-equivalent control group design. Instrumen penelitian berupa Pre-test & Post-test, Observasi, LKPD, Unjuk Kerja, Angket. Analisis data menggunakan Uji Normalitas, Homogenitas, Paired Sample T-Test, Independent Sample T-Test, dan N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan : 1) terdapat perbedaan signifikan kemampuan berpikir kritis sebelum dan sesudah diberikan treatment di kelas eksperimen pada tiap pertemuan sebesar (sig. 0,000 < 0,05). 2) terdapat perbedaan signifikan kemampuan berpikir kritis sebelum dan sesudah di kelas kontrol pada tiap pertemuan sebesar (sig. 0,000 < 0,05). 3) terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kontrol sebesar 0,12 < 0,05 dengan hasil N-Gain didapatkan 0,98 yang berada pada kategori tinggi. Dengan demikian, model Problem Based Learning berbantuan Mind Mapping lebih berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Disarankan agar guru lebih sering menerapkan model Problem Based Learning berbantuan Mind Mapping untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, terutama pada materi yang membutuhkan analisis. Sekolah juga perlu mendukung pelatihan guru terhadap model ini dan mendorong penelitian lanjutan pada materi serta jenjang berbeda. However, in reality, these skills are still low. Initial observations show that students tend to be passive, are unable to connect geography lessons with phenomena occurring in their surroundings, and only focus on memorizing material because learning still often uses lecture methods. This study aims to determine the effect of the mind mapping-assisted Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on students' critical thinking skills in the subject of inland water dynamics. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a non-equivalent control group design. The research instruments are pre-tests and post-tests, observations, student worksheets, performance tests, and questionnaires. Data analysis used Normality Test, Homogeneity Test, Paired Sample T-Test, Independent Sample T-Test, and N-Gain. The results showed: 1) there was a significant difference in critical thinking skills before and after treatment in the experimental class at each meeting (sig. 0.000 < 0.05). 2) There was a significant difference in critical thinking skills before and after in the control class at each meeting (sig. 0.000 < 0.05). 3) There was a significant difference between the experimental and control classes of 0.12 < 0.05 with an N-Gain result of 0.98, which is in the high category. Thus, the Mind Mapping-assisted Problem-Based Learning model is more effective in improving students' critical thinking skills. It is recommended that teachers apply the Mind Mapping-assisted Problem-Based Learning model more often to improve students' critical thinking skills, especially in materials that require analysis. Schools also need to support teacher training on this model and encourage further research on different materials and levels.
