Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil studi pendahuluan yang menunjukkan rendahnya Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis (KBK) dan hasil belajar ranah kognitif siswa dalam materi Ilmu Pengetahuan Bumi dan Antariksa (IPBA). Untuk itu dilakukan penelitian menggunakan model inkuiri abduksi yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan KBK dan hasil belajar ranah kognitif siswa dalam materi IPBA, khususnya dalam pokok bahasan atmosfer. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen dengan desain penelitian one group pretest-posttest design. Penelitian dilakukan di salah satu MA Swasta di kota Bandung dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 34 siswa. Data penelitian didapat dengan memberikan pretest dan posttest pada sampel sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan perlakuan. Hasil pretest dan posttest menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang cukup signifikan pada setiap aspek keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar ranah kognitif. Pada aspek interpretasi dalam KBK atau aspek pemahaman (C2) dalam hasil belajar ranah kognitif diperoleh nilai gain yang dinormalisasi sebesar 0,45 dengan kategori sedang. Pada aspek inferensi dalam KBK atau aspek penerapan (C3) dalam hasil belajar ranah kognitif diperoleh nilai gain yang dinormalisasi sebesar 0,45 dengan kategori sedang. Pada aspek analisis (C4) dalam KBK maupun hasil belajar ranah kognitif diperoleh nilai gain yang dinormalisasi sebesar 0,41 dengan kategori sedang. Pada aspek eksplanasi dalam KBK atau aspek sintesis (C5) dalam hasil belajar ranah kognitif diperoleh nilai gain yang dinormalisasi sebesar 0,53 dengan kategori sedang. Pada aspek evaluasi (C6) dalam KBK maupun hasil belajar ranah kognitif diperoleh nilai gain yang dinormalisasi sebesar 0,39 dengan kategori rendah. Therefore, Abductive Inquiry Model was used to increase critical thinking skills and cognitive performances of students in earth and space science, especially in the atmospheres chapter. The method used in this research was experiment that used one group pretest-posttest design. The research was done at one of high school in Bandung Town, with the total amount of sample correspondences was thirty four students. Research data was gotten by giving pretest and posttest to the sample correspondences before and after treatment. The result of pretest and posttest showed the increase of every aspect for critical thinking skills and cognitive performances significantly enough. In interpretation aspect of critical thinking skills or comprehension (C2) aspect of cognitive performances, the normalized gain was 0.45 which is in medium category. In inference aspect of critical thinking skills or application (C3) aspect of cognitive performances, the normalized gain was 0.45 which is in medium category. In analysis (C4) aspect of both critical thinking skills and cognitive performances, the normalized gain was 0.41 which is in medium category. In explanation aspect of critical thinking skills or synthesis (C5) aspect of cognitive performances, the normalized gain was 0.53 which is in medium category. In evaluation (C6) aspect of both critical thinking skills and cognitive performances, the normalized gain was 0.39 which is in low category.
