Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi dari hasil pembelajaran matematika pada proses operasi hitung perkalian 6 sampai 10 siswa tunarungu SDLB kelas IV di SLB YPNI Pameungpeuk, Kabupaten Bandung. Metode konvensional dengan proses penjumlahan angka berulang belum mampu membantu siswa untuk menyelesaikan soal perkalian 6 sampai 10 secara cepat dan tepat karena masih terdapat kekeliruan berhitung yang berujung pada rendahnya hasil belajar siswa. Hal ini dibuktikan oleh hasil observasi terhadap siswa yang menunjukkan nilai di bawah rata-rata nilai KKM 65,00. Oleh karena itu, peneliti mencoba meneliti keefektifan metode jarimatika sebagai upaya untuk membantu meningkatkan kemampuan operasi berhitung perkalian khususnya bilangan 6 sampai 10 pada siswa tunarungu SDLB kelas IV di SLB YPNI Pamengpeuk, Kabupaten Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (Action Class Research) model Kemmis dan Taggart. Penelitian ini dimulai dari proses Pra-Siklus, kemudian berlanjut menuju Siklus I dan Siklus II. Setiap siklusnya terdapat dua kali pertemuan. Masing-masing siklus memiliki tahapan yang dimulai dari perencanaan (plan), tindakan (action), observasi (observe), hingga refleksi (reflect). Subjek penelitian adalah lima orang siswa tunarungu kelas IV yang terdiri dari tiga orang siswa laki-laki dan dua orang siswa perempuan. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data, diperoleh rata-rata nilai dari Pra-Siklus sebesar 50,00. Selanjutnya pada Siklus I, siswa mendapat rata-rata nilai sebesar 62,00 dan pada Siklus II sebesar 78,00. Dari hasil tersebut, nilai rata-rata siswa mengalami peningkatan sebesar 56% dari Pra-Siklus dan 20% dari nilai KKM 65. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media jarimatika terbukti efektif. Selanjutnya, peneliti merekomendasikan kepada guru untuk mempertimbangkan penggunaan metode jarimatika untuk meningkatkan kemampuan operasi berhitung perkalian 6 sampai 10 pada siswa tunarungu kelas IV. This research is circumstanced by the results of mathematics learning in the multiplication count operation process of 6 until 10 for fourth grade deaf students of SLB YPNI Pameungpeuk, Bandung District. Using conventional methods, the process of repetition calculating math can’t help students to solve multiplication questions 6 to 10 quickly and accurately because there are still errors in the calculation that cause low student learning outcomes. This is evidenced by the results of observations of students who showed values below the KKM average (65). Therefore, researchers tried to test the effectiveness of the Jarimatika method to help them improve their abilities. The research method used is Action Class Research by Kemmis and Taggart. This research starts from the Pre-Cycle process, then continues towards Cycle I and Cycle II. Each cycle Each cycle consists of planning, action, observe, and reflect session. The subjects were five deaf students in grade IV, three of them are men and two others are women. Based on the results of data processing, students get an average score of 50,00 in Pre-Cycle. Furthermore, students get an average score of 62,00 in Cycle I and 78,00 in Cycle II. That means the average value of students has increased by 56% of the value in the Pre-Cycle and 20% of the KKM. So it can be concluded that the use of Jarimatika media proved effective. Then, researcher wished this method can be preceeded by others teachers to increase students ability especially for teacher of SLB YPNI Pameungpeuk, Bandung District.
