Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media komik digital terhadap peningkatan pemahaman peserta didik kelas XI pada materi makna demokrasi di SMAN 12 Bandung. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada rendahnya pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep demokrasi yang bersifat abstrak, serta kebiasaan siswa generasi Z yang lebih akrab dengan media digital. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi-eksperimen dengan desain Non-Equivalent Control Group Design, yang melibatkan kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan media komik digital dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan media konvensional seperti buku siswa dan papan tulis. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test, serta angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman peserta didik setelah penggunaan komik digital, dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol. Media komik digital terbukti efektif dalam menyederhanakan konsep abstrak menjadi lebih konkret, menarik minat belajar siswa, serta meningkatkan pemahaman materi secara keseluruhan. Dengan demikian, komik digital dapat menjadi alternatif media pembelajaran yang inovatif dalam Pendidikan Pancasila, khususnya dalam mengajarkan materi makna demokrasi; This study aims to determine the effect of using digital comics on improving the understanding of the meaning of democracy among eleventh-grade students at SMAN 12 Bandung. The background of this study is based on students' low understanding of the abstract concept of democracy, as well as the habits of Generation Z students who are more familiar with digital media. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design, involving an experimental class using digital comics and a control class using conventional media such as student books and a whiteboard. Data collection techniques were carried out through pre-tests and post-tests, as well as questionnaires. The results showed a significant increase in student understanding after using digital comics, compared to the control group. Digital comics have proven effective in simplifying abstract concepts into more concrete concepts, engaging student interest in learning, and improving overall understanding of the material. Thus, digital comics can be an alternative, innovative learning medium in Pancasila Education, particularly in teaching the meaning of democracy.
