Abstract
ABSTRAK Ekstrakurikuler dalam Mengembangkan Kecakapan Hidup Peserta Didik di SLB Bina Karya Kecakapan hidup menjadi kemampuan yang perlu dimiliki setiap individu di abad ke-21, yang termasuk peserta didik berkebutuhan khusus di SLB Bina Karya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi Pembelajaran IPS, Habituasi dan Ekstrakurikuler dalam mengembangkan kecakapan hidup di SLB Bina Karya. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, dengan metode studi kasus. Pengumpulan data penelitian ini melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi. Informan dalam penelitian ini yakni Kepala Sekolah, Guru dan Peserta didik SLB Bina Karya yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran IPS, Habituasi dan Ekstrakurikuler dapat mengembangkan kecakapan hidup peseta didik di SLB. Berdasarkan hal tersebut diperoleh bahwa 1) Implementasi pembelajaran IPS yang disesuaikan menunjukkan perubahan nyata pada peserta didik, terutama peserta didik tingkat menengah mulai memiliki kesadaran mengenai waktu belajar dan kemampuan menyesuaikan diri dalam lingkungan sosial. 2) Implementasi habituasi menegaskan peran guru penting untuk menumbuhkan perubahan positif peserta didik, seperti peserta didik mulai mengucapkan salam, menjaga kebersihan diri dan penggunaan alat sederhana. 3) Implementasi ekstrakurikuler menyesuaikan dengan minat dan bakat peserta didik sehingga beberapa peserta didik mampu menjadi juara dalam lomba dan memiliki relasi. 4) Tantangan pengembangan kecakapan hidup di SLB mencakup kemampuan peserta didik beragam, tidak memiliki tenaga ahli khusus, keterbatasan fasilitas dan minimnya dukungan. Upaya yang dilakukan membuat perencanaan terarah, pengembangan guru, peningkatan fasilitas dan kolaborasi. Kecakapan hidup di SLB mencakup aspek personal, sosial, vokasi sederhana dan akademik sebagai bagian dari nilai IPS yang berfokus pada kemandirian dan keterampilan sosial. Kata Kunci: Kecakapan Hidup, Pembelajaran IPS, Habituasi, Ekstrakurikuler, Peserta Didik Berkebutuhan Khusus ABSTRACT Life skills are abilities that every individual in the 21st century needs to possess, including students with special needs at SLB Bina Karya. This study aims to determine the implementation of Social Studies learning, habituation, and extracurricular activities in developing life skills at SLB Bina Karya. The research approach used is qualitative, with a case study method. Data collection for this research was thru observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The informants in this study are the Principal, Teachers, and Students of SLB Bina Karya, who were selected using purposive sampling technique. The research results show that social studies learning, habituation, and extracurricular activities can develop students' life skills in special schools. Based on these findings, it was concluded that: 1) The adapted implementation of social studies learning showed real changes in students, especially middle-level students, who began to develop an awareness of study time and the ability to adapt to the social environment. 2) The implementation of habituation emphasized the important role of teachers in fostering positive changes in students, such as students starting to greet, maintain personal hygiene, and use simple tools. 3) The implementation of extracurricular activities was adapted to students' interests and talents, so that some students were able to become champions in competitions and build relationships. 4) Challenges in developing life skills in special schools include diverse student abilities, a lack of specialized experts, limited facilities, and minimal support. The efforts made include directed planning, teacher development, facility improvement, and collaboration. Life skills in special schools include personal, social, basic vocational, and academic aspects as part of the social studies curriculum, which focuses on independence and social skills.
