    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan guna menganalisis korelasi antara durasi penggunaan smartphone dengan kemampuan literasi digital pada siswa Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK). Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada tingginya intensitas penggunaan smartphone di kalangan pelajar, yang berpotensi memengaruhi keterampilan digital mereka, baik secara positif maupun negatif. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif korelasional dengan pendekatan observasional tanpa pemberian perlakuan (treatment). Sampel penelitian berjumlah 103 siswa SMK Negeri 1 Cimahi, yang dipilih melalui teknik simple random sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner yang mengukur durasi penggunaan smartphone dan indikator literasi digital, seperti verifikasi informasi, keamanan digital, dan penggunaan teknologi dalam pembelajaran. Hasil analisis data dengan uji Spearman menunjukkan adanya korelasi positif yang signifikan namun lemah antara durasi penggunaan smartphone dan literasi digital (r = 0,288; p = 0,003). Artinya, semakin tinggi intensitas penggunaan smartphone, cenderung diikuti oleh peningkatan kemampuan literasi digital, meskipun tidak secara kuat. Karena analisis dilakukan terhadap skor total durasi, pengaruh spesifik dari masing-masing jenis penggunaan belum dikaji secara terpisah. Temuan ini menunjukkan pentingnya penggunaan smartphone secara bijak dan terarah sebagai bagian dari strategi pembelajaran berbasis digital di lingkungan pendidikan vokasi. This study aims to analyze the correlation between the duration of smartphone use and digital literacy skills in Vocational High School (SMK) students. The background of this study is based on the high intensity of smartphone use among students, which has the potential to affect their digital skills, both positively and negatively. The method used is quantitative correlation with an observational approach without treatment. The research sample consisted of 103 students of SMK Negeri 1 Cimahi, who were selected using a simple random sampling technique. The research instrument was a questionnaire that measured the duration of smartphone use and digital literacy indicators, such as information verification, digital security, and the use of technology in learning. The results of data analysis using the Spearman test showed a significant but weak positive correlation between the duration of smartphone use and digital literacy (r = 0.288; p = 0.003). This means that the higher the intensity of smartphone use, the higher the tendency for digital literacy skills to increase, although not strongly. Because the analysis was carried out on the total duration score, the specific influence of each type of use has not been studied separately. These findings indicate the importance of using smartphones wisely and in a targeted manner as part of a digital-based learning strategy in vocational education environments.
