    Abstract

    ABSTRAK Kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran seni tari masih tergolong rendah, padahal kemampuan ini penting untuk memahami makna dan nilai budaya dalam gerakan tari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melaporkan efektivitas pendekatan Meaningful Learning dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VII dalam pembelajaran seni tari. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan pendekatan Meaningful Learning dan kelas kontrol dengan metode konvensional. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes, observasi, dan wawancara, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Uji statistik yang digunakan mencakup uji normalitas, homogenitas, dan independent samples t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan Meaningful Learning secara signifikan lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dibanding pembelajaran konvensional. Observasi dan wawancara juga memperkuat temuan tersebut melalui peningkatan partisipasi aktif dan refleksi siswa terhadap materi tari. Simpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan Meaningful Learning dapat memperkuat kualitas pembelajaran seni tari. Disarankan bagi penelitian selanjutnya untuk menerapkan pendekatan ini dalam mata pelajaran seni lainnya dan pada jenjang yang berbeda. Kata Kunci : Meaningful Learning, Berpikir Kritis, Pembelajaran Seni Tari   ABSTRACT Students' critical thinking skills in dance learning are still relatively low, even though this ability is important for understanding the meaning and cultural values of dance movements. This study aims to report the effectiveness of the Meaningful Learning approach in improving the critical thinking skills of seventh-grade students in dance learning. The method used was a quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research subjects consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class using the Meaningful Learning approach and the control class using conventional methods. Data collection techniques were carried out through tests, observations, and interviews, while data analysis was carried out quantitatively and qualitatively. Statistical tests used included normality tests, homogeneity tests, and independent samples t-tests. The results showed that the Meaningful Learning approach was significantly more effective in improving students' critical thinking skills than conventional learning. Observations and interviews also strengthened these findings by increasing students' active participation and reflection on dance materials. The conclusion of this study shows that the Meaningful Learning approach can strengthen the quality of dance learning. It is recommended for further research to apply this approach to other art subjects and at different levels. Keywords : Meaningful Learning, Critical Thinking, Dance Arts Learning
