    Abstract

    Latar belakang dari Penelitian ini adalah rendahnya kemampuan bercerita siswa yang ditandai dengan kurangnya kelancaran siswa dalam bercerita, penguasaan kosakata, penghayatan cerita, serta rasa percaya diri saat tampil di depan umum. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas wayang kreasi dalam meningkatkan kemampuan bercerita siswa kelas v di sekolah dasar. Wayang kreasi dipilih sebagai solusi karena merupakan alat yang berbasis budaya lokal yang mampu memadukan unsur visual, gerak, dan cerita, sehingga dapat membantu siswa memahami isi cerita sekaligus mengekspresikannya secara kreatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain One Group Pretest-Posttest. Subjek dalam Penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas v di salah satu sekolah dasar di Kecamatan baleendah, Kabupaten Bandung, berjumlah 28 orang. Penelitian ini memiliki tiga tahap, yaitu dimulai dengan pretest, pemberian perlakuan pembelajaran bercerita dengan wayang kreasi, dan posttest untuk mengukur kemampuan bercerita siswa setelah perlakuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat efektivitas wayang kreasi dalam meningkatkan kemampuan bercerita, yang dibuktikan melalui hasil uji paired sample t-test. Berdasarkan dari temuan ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa wayang kreasi efektif digunakan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan bercerita siswa kelas v di Sekolah Dasar. The background of the research lies in the low story telling ability among students, as indicated by their lack of fluency, limited vocabulary mastery, insufficient emotional engagement with the story, and low self-confidence when performing in front of an audience. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of creative puppet in improving storytelling skills of Phase C students in elementary school. Creative puppet was chosen as a solution because it is a tool local culture-based medium that integrates visual elements, movement, and narrative, thereby helping students both understand the content of the story and express it creatively. The research employed a quantitative method with One Group Pretest-Posttest design. There are 28 students as subjects from an elementary school in Baleendah, Bandung. The research was conducted in three stages: Pretest to measure a student initial ability, the treatment phase in which storytelling was taught using skills after the creative puppet, and a posttest to measure storytelling skills after the treatment. The study aimed to determine the level of effectiveness of the creative puppet in improving storytelling ability, as evidenced through a paired sample t-test. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the creative puppet is effective in enhancing the storytelling skills of Phase C elementary school students.
