    Abstract

    Berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu keterampilan abad 21 yang penting dimiliki oleh peserta didik. Penilaian yang dilakukan oleh PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) pada tahun 2022 menyebutkan bahwa tingkat kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa Indonesia masih berada di peringkat yang rendah, sehingga kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa di sekolah menengah perlu ditingkatkan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui apakah ada peningkatan dalam kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa setelah penerapan model Problem-Based Learning dalam pembelajarannya, serta apakah ada perbedaan tingkat kemampuan berpikir kritis tersebut dengan siswa yang pembelajarannya menerapkan model ekspositori. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen dengan pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. Subjek penelitian yaitu 63 siswa kelas X DPIB di SMKN 1 Cilaku Cianjur yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan instrumen tes berupa soal uraian sebagai pre-test dan post-test. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji statistik non-parametrik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang signifikan setelah implementasi Problem-Based Learning dalam pembelajarannya, ditunjukkan dengan rata-rata skor N-Gain sebesar 61%. Peningkatan tersebut lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan model ekspositori yang rata-rata skor N-Gain nya sebesar 41%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara peningkatan yang dialami oleh siswa dengan pembelajaran Problem-Based Learning dan ekspositori, dengan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis pada siswa yang pembelajarannya menerapkan Problem-Based Learning lebih tinggi 20% dari peningkatan pada siswa yang pembelajarannya menerapkan model ekspositori. Critical thinking is one of the important 21st-century skills that students should possess. The assessment conducted by PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) in 2022 revealed that Indonesian students' critical thinking skills are still ranked low, so the critical thinking skills of secondary school students need to be improved. This study was conducted to determine whether there was an improvement in students' critical thinking skills after the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model in their learning, as well as whether there was a difference in the level of critical thinking skills between students who used Problem-Based Learning and those who used expository learning. The research design used was a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. The research subjects were 63 tenth-grade DPIB students at SMKN 1 Cilaku Cianjur, selected using purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted using a test instrument in the form of essay questions as pre-tests and post-tests. Data analysis was conducted using non-parametric statistical tests. The results of the study indicate that there was a significant improvement in students' critical thinking skills after the implementation of Problem-Based Learning in their learning, as shown by an average N-Gain score of 61%. This improvement was higher than that of students whose learning used the expository model, whose average N-Gain score was 41%. It can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the improvement experienced by students with Problem-Based Learning and expository learning, with the improvement in critical thinking skills in students whose learning applies Problem-Based Learning being 20% higher than the improvement in students whose learning applies the expository model.
