    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh terbatasnya media visual dalam penanaman nilai karakter pada layanan pengasuhan anak usia dini. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan media edukatif berupa pop-up book untuk anak usia 2-4 tahun dengan menggunakan metode mixed method dan pendekatan R&D model ADDE (Analyze, Design, Development, dan Evaluation). Tahap analisis menunjukkan bahwa layanan pengasuhan telah terstruktur namun media visual masih terbatas, sehingga pengembangan pop-up book dinilai relevan untuk mendukung pembentukan karakter dan keterlibatan belajar anak. Tahap perancangan meliputi penyusunan cerita, storyboard, desain visual, dan buku panduan penggunaan dengan dukungan teknologi AI (ChatGPT) serta aplikasi desain Canva. Tahap pengembangan menghasilkan pop-up book yang kemudian divalidasi oleh para ahli, yaitu akademisi dan pengelola daycare, dengan hasil kelayakan sebesar 87,9% (sangat layak). Tahap evaluasi, uji coba terbatas menunjukkan respons positif dari anak-anak sebesar 81% (sangat baik) dan tanggapan dari pendidik dan pengasuh mencapai 90% (sangat bermanfaat). Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa pop-up book efektif sebagai sarana penanaman nilai karakter secara menyenangkan dan interaktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pop-up book memiliki potensi yang kuat sebagai media edukatif untuk pembentukan karakter anak usia dini. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pengembangan konten nilai karakter yang lebih beragam dan uji coba lebih luas di berbagai layanan pengasuhan anak usia dini. This study was motivated by the limited availability of visual media for instilling character values in early childhood care services. The purpose of this study was to develop educational media in the form of pop-up books for children aged 2-4 years using a mixed method and the ADDE (Analyze, Design, Development, and Evaluation) R&D model approach. The analysis stage showed that childcare services are structured but visual media are still limited, so the development of pop-up books is considered relevant to support character building and children's learning engagement. The design stage included story writing, storyboarding, visual design, and a user guidebook with the support of AI technology (ChatGPT) and the Canva design application. The development stage produced a pop-up book that was then validated by experts, namely academics and daycare managers, with a feasibility score of 87.9% (very feasible). The evaluation stage, limited trials showed a positive response from children of 81% (very good) and responses from educators and caregivers reached 90% (very useful). This indicates that pop-up books are effective as a means of instilling character values in a fun and interactive way. The results of the study show that pop-up books have strong potential as an educational medium for character building in early childhood.
