Abstract
Perancangan ini bertujuan untuk merancang apartemen di Kota Bandung yang menghadapi isu kepadatan penduduk dan fenomena urban heat island, dengan mengusung tema arsitektur biophilic. Kepadatan penduduk yang terus meningkat di Kota Bandung memerlukan solusi hunian yang efektif, sementara fenomena urban heat island memperburuk kualitas lingkungan perkotaan dengan meningkatnya suhu di daerah urban dibandingkan dengan daerah sekitarnya. Arsitektur biophilic, yang mengintegrasikan elemen alam ke dalam desain bangunan, dipilih sebagai pendekatan untuk menciptakan lingkungan hunian yang lebih sehat dan nyaman. Desain apartemen ini mencakup berbagai strategi biophilic, seperti penggunaan tanaman hijau di dalam dan sekitar bangunan, pencahayaan alami yang optimal, serta ventilasi silang untuk meningkatkan sirkulasi udara. Selain itu, penggunaan material yang ramah lingkungan dan berkelanjutan turut diperhatikan dalam proses perancangan. Konsep taman vertikal, rooftop garden, dan ruang terbuka hijau di dalam kompleks apartemen diimplementasikan untuk mengurangi efek urban heat island dan menyediakan ruang rekreasi bagi penghuni. Implementasi desain ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model bagi proyek-proyek hunian masa depan yang berkelanjutan dan ramah lingkungan. This research aims to design apartments in the city of Bandung that face the issue of population density and the urban heat island phenomenon, using the theme of biophilic architecture. The ever-increasing population density in Bandung City requires effective housing solutions, while the urban heat island phenomenon worsens the quality of the urban environment by increasing temperatures in urban areas compared to surrounding areas. Biophilic architecture, which integrates natural elements into building design, was chosen as an approach to creating a healthier and more comfortable residential environment. This apartment design includes various biophilic strategies, such as the use of green plants in and around the building, optimal natural lighting, and cross ventilation to increase air circulation. Apart from that, the use of environmentally friendly and sustainable materials was also considered in the design process. The concept of vertical gardens, rooftop gardens and green open spaces in apartment complexes is implemented to reduce the urban heat island effect and provide recreation space for residents. The conclusion of this research confirms that the biophilic architectural approach is not only effective in overcoming the issue of population density and urban heat islands, but also provides added value in the form of improving the quality of life for apartment residents in the city of Bandung. It is hoped that the implementation of this design can become a model for future residential projects that are sustainable and environmentally friendly.
