    Abstract

    Mahasiswa tunanetra mengalami hambatan mengenali tata letak area material dan pelayanan perpustakaan Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia secara mandiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan program orientasi mobilitas melalui pendamping awas untuk mempersiapkan kemandirian mahasiswa tunanetra dalam mengakses perpustakaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus dengan melibatkan mahasiswa tunanetra dan pustakawan sebagai partisipan penelitian. Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi kemudian data dianalisis dengan cara reduksi data, penyajian dan penarikan kesimpulan serta menggunakan triagulasi untuk memverifikasi keabsahan data. Hasil penelitian berupa program orientasi mobilitas melalui pendamping awas (PROPER-A) yang berfokus dalam memberikan orientasi area material dan pelayanan serta sistem penomoran di perpustakaan dengan mengeksplorasi ruang. Program diintegrasikan dengan pendamping awas untuk mendekripsikan dan menjelaskan cara mencapai fasilitas dan layanan perpustakaan. Program divalidasi menggunakan metode delphi dengan tiga putaran dan dinyatakan layak untuk diimplementasikan oleh tiga ahli. Dengan demikian, PROPER-A dapat menjadi pilihan untuk meningkatkan kemandirian mahasiswa tunanetra dalam mengakses perpustakaan, serta berfungsi sebagai pedoman orientasi lingkungan perpustakaan untuk meningkatan pelayanan bagi mahasiswa tunanetra bagi perpustakaan dijenjang perguruan tinggi. Visually impaired students experience difficulties in independently recognizing the layout of the material and service areas of the Indonesia University of Education library. This study aims to develop a mobility orientation program through guide sighted to prepare visually impaired students for independence in accessing the library. This study used a qualitative method with a case study design involving visually impaired students and librarians as research participants. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data was then analyzed through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing, as well as triangulation to verify data validity. The research results are in the form of a mobility orientation program through guide sighted (PROPER-A) that focuses on providing orientation on material areas and services as well as the numbering system in libraries by exploring the space. The program is integrated with a companion guide to describe and explain how to access library facilities and services. The program was validated using the Delphi method with three rounds and was deemed feasible for implementation by three experts. Thus, PROPER-A can be an option to improve the independence of visually impaired students in accessing libraries, as well as serving as a guideline for library environment orientation to improve services for visually impaired students in higher education libraries.
