Abstract

Pembelajaran pada dasarnya ialah suatu proses interaksi antara pendidik dengan peserta didik melalui model pembelajaran, banyak model pembelajaran yang berkembang untuk membantu peserta didik berpikir kritis. Kondisi awal peserta didik dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar pada mata pelajaran sosiologi di SMAN 10 Bandung yaitu kegiatan belajar mengajar masih berpusat pada pendidik, penggunaan model pembelajaran yang kurang variatif, masih terdapat peserta didik yang tingkat kemampuan berpikir kritisnya rendah dilihat apabila pendidik mengajukan permasalahan sosial untuk di amati serta dianalisis, masih terdapat peserta didik yang kurang tanggap, kurang memberikan gagasan atau ide apabila dihadapkan pada masalah. Dalam hal ini peneliti mencoba mencari solusi dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran yang berpusat pada peserta didik (student centered learning) dan memberi penekanan saat proses belajar melalui penyajian permasalahan sosial yaitu model pembelajaran think-talk and written dan model pembelajaran Traffinger untuk melihat perbedaan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Tujuan peneliti melaksanakan penelitian ini yaitu ingin mengetahui perbedaan model pembelajaran Think –Talk –Write (TTW), model pembelajaran Traffinger dengan model pembelajaran konvensional dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik dalam mata pelajaran sosiologi di kelas XI SMAN 10 Bandung. Alasan peneliti melakukan penelitian ini ialah ingin mengubah kebiasaan yang sudah lama terjadi dimana biasanya belajar dipusatkan pada pendidik kini harus berpusat pada peserta didik, ingin meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik melalui penggunaan permasalahan yang dikaitkan dengan materi sehingga peserta didik memiliki kepekaan terhadap lingkungannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan quasi eksperimen, pola penelitian menggunakan Nonequivalent Control Group Design dengan langkah memberi pretest untuk mengetahui kemampuan awal peserta didik sebelum dilakukan perlakuan, memberikan perlakuan dengan model pembelajaran yang sudah ditentukan pada 2 kelas eksperimen dan satu kelas kontrol dan memberi postets untuk mengetahui kemampuan akhir setelah dilakukan perlakuan, hasilnya diolah menggunakan short method. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis antara model pembelajaran Think, Talk and Writen, Traffinger dan metode konvensional pada mata pelajaran sosiologi dengan derajat kebebasan 7 dan taraf signifikan 1% dan t hitung sebesar 3,499. Kata Kunci : Think –Talk –Write (Ttw), Traffinger, Berpikir Kritis Learning is essentially a process of interaction between the teacher and the students through the learning model, nowadays many learning models are evolving to help students think critically. In the beginning there are some conditions of students at SMAN 10 Bandung in learning activities in sociology subject, first in teaching and learning activities is still the teacher centered, second the use of learning models are less varied, third there are some learners who have low ability in think critically, it can be seen from the situation when the teacher propose social issues to observe and analyze by the students, fourth there are some students who are less responsive, and less contribute in giving an idea to solve the problem. In this case the researchers try to find a solution by applying the learning model centered on the learner (student centered learning) and to emphasize the process of learning through the presentation of the social problems using learning model think-talk and written and learning models Traffinger to see the difference in improving the students ability in think critically. The researchers conducting this study is to know the difference between learning model Think -Talk -Write (TTW), Traffinger learning model with the conventional learning model to improve critical thinking skills of students in class XI SMAN 10 Bandung at sociology subject. The reason that researchers conducted this study is to change the teacher centered become students centered, to improve the critical thinking skills of students through the use of the problems associated with the material so that students have a sensitivity to the environment. This research used a quasi-experimental, research patterns is using Nonequivalent Control Group Design the step is giving a pretest to determine the ability of the students in the beginning before the treatment, giving the treatment using learning model that has been determined in two experimental classes and one control class and then give the post test to determine their ability after they gave the treatment, the results are processed using the short method. The results showed that there is no the differences in improving the critical thinking skills by using learning model Think, Talk and Writen, Traffinger and conventional methods in sociology subject with 7 degrees of freedom, a significance level 1% and arithmetic t is 3,499.
