    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan model pembelajaran inquiry dalam pembelajaran seni tari guna meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas Prolife di SMA BPI Bandung. Latar belakang penelitian ini dilandasi oleh rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang terlihat dari hasil pretest, observasi, serta wawancara yang menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran masih berpusat pada guru (teacher center) dan tidak memberikan ruang eksploratif kepada siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan Ex Post Facto dan teknik pengumpulan data berupa pretest, posttest, serta wawancara. Instrumen tes dikembangkan berdasarkan indikator berpikir kritis dari Facione (2009), dan analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji paired sample t-test melalui software IBM SPSS Statistics 24. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan signifikan pada kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa setelah diterapkannya model pembelajaran inquiry, dengan nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 53,5 dan nilai rata-rata posttest meningkat menjadi 84,75. Model inquiry terbukti mampu menciptakan suasana belajar yang aktif, eksploratif, dan reflektif dalam pembelajaran seni tari, serta membantu siswa membangun pemahaman kritis terhadap materi yang dipelajari. This study aims to examine the application of the inquiry learning model in dance education to enhance the critical thinking skills of Prolife students at SMA BPI Bandung. The research background is based on the low level of students' critical thinking abilities, as indicated by pretest results, classroom observations, and interviews showing that the learning process was still teacher-centered and lacked student exploration. This study employed a quantitative method with an Ex Post Facto approach and data collection techniques including pretests, posttests, and interviews. The test instrument was developed based on Facione’s (2009) critical thinking indicators, and data analysis was conducted using the paired sample t-test via IBM SPSS Statistics 24. The results revealed a significant improvement in students’ critical thinking skills after implementing the inquiry model, with the average pretest score of 53.5 increasing to a posttest average of 84.75. The inquiry model proved effective in creating an active, exploratory, and reflective learning environment in dance education, and helped students develop critical understanding of the subject matter.
