    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi karena pentingnya physical literacy pada masa remaja adalah fase krusial dalam perkembangan fisik, mental, dan sosial siswa. Dengan memiliki literasi fisik, siswa tidak hanya memahami pentingnya bergerak dan beraktivitas fisik, tetapi juga mampu menerapkannya dalam kehidupan seharihari, termasuk dalam konteks belajar di sekolah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbandingan physical literacy berdasarkan gender pada siswa SMP Negeri 37 Bandung. Metode penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif, kemudian jenis penelitian ini adalah survei cross-sectional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini siswa SMP Negeri 37 Bandung, yang berjumlah 959 yang terdiri siswa laki-laki 495 dan siswa Perempuan berjumlah 464 siswa. Adapun teknik sampling yang digunakan yaitu simple random sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 274 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu perceived physical literacy instrument (PPLI). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa adanya perbedaan physical literacy siswa berdasarkan gender pada siswa SMP Negeri 37 Bandung. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa gender laki-laki cenderung lebih unggul dibanding gender Perempuan. This study is motivated by the importance of physical literacy during adolescence, a crucial phase in students' physical, mental and social development. By having physical literacy, students not only understand the importance of moving and being physically active, but are also able to apply it in everyday life, including in the context of learning at school. The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of physical literacy based on gender in students of SMP Negeri 37 Bandung. This research method is descriptive quantitative, then this type of research is survey cross-sectional. The population in this study were students of SMP Negeri 37 Bandung, which amounted to 959 consisting of 495 male students and 464 female students. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling with a sample size of 274 people. The instrument used in this study was a perceived physical literacy instrument (PPLI). The results showed that there were differences in student physical literacy based on gender in students of SMP Negeri 37 Bandung. So it can be concluded that the male gender tends to be superior to the female gender.
