Abstract

Sebagai bentuk dukungan terhadap peningkatan mutu pendidikan di SMK, dibutuhkan upaya untuk memperbaiki kegiatan belajar melalui pendekatan dengan menstimulus partisipasi aktif peserta didik, yang mampu menciptakan pemerataan kompetensi siswa sehingga dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar secara menyeluruh. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut: (1) Mengetahui gambaran penerapan metode peer tutoring di SMKN 2 Garut; (2) Mengetahui hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen setelah penerapan metode peer tutoring; (3) Mengetahui perbedaan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen setelah penerapan metode peer tutoring pada mata pelajaran Aplikasi Perangkat Lunak AutoCAD. Penelitian ini mengadopsi pendekatan desain quasi eksperiment dengan model Nonequivalent Control Group Desain. Instrumen yang diterapkan diantaranya perangkat pembelajaran, instrumen tes (pretest-posttest), lembar observasi, serta dokumentasi. Analisis data pada penelitian ini meliputi analisis uji prasyarat, keterlaksaan pembelajaran, analisis hasil belajar, uji N-Gain dan uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlaksanaan pembelajaran di kelas eksperimen selama empat pertemuan tergolong sangat baik. Nilai rata-rata tes awal di kelas kontrol maupun kelas eksperimen keduanya berada pada kategori belum tuntas. Pada tes akhir, kelas kontrol masih belum mencapai ketuntasan, sementara kelas eksperimen telah melampaui nilai ketuntasan. Hasil Uji N-Gain mengindikasikan bahwa kelas kontrol mengalami peningkatan belajar dalam kategori rendah, sementara kelas eksperimen berada dalam kategori sedang. Terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol secara statistik berdasarkan hasil uji-t. Dengan demikian, pendekatan peer tutoring terbukti bisa meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Aplikasi Perangkat Lunak AutoCAD di SMK Negeri 2 Garut. As a form of support for improving the quality of education in vocational schools, efforts are needed to enhance learning activities through approaches that stimulate active student participation, which in turn fosters equitable competence and improves overall learning outcomes. The objectives of this study are: (1) To describe the implementation of the peer tutoring method at SMKN 2 Garut; (2) To determine the learning outcomes of the experimental class after the application of peer tutoring; (3) To analyze the differences in learning improvement between the control class and the experimental class after applying the peer tutoring method in the AutoCAD Software Application subject. This research employed a quasi-experimental design with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The instruments included learning tools, pretest–posttest assessments, observation sheets, and documentation. Data analysis covered prerequisite tests, learning implementation, learning outcomes, N-Gain analysis, and hypothesis testing. The findings revealed that the learning implementation in the experimental class over four sessions was categorized as very good. The average pretest scores of both the control and experimental classes were below the mastery standard. In the posttest, the control class remained below the standard, while the experimental class surpassed it. The N-Gain analysis showed a low improvement in the control class and a moderate improvement in the experimental class. A t-test confirmed a statistically significant difference in learning outcomes between the two groups. Thus, peer tutoring has been proven to enhance student learning outcomes in the AutoCAD Software Application subject at SMKN 2 Garut.
