Abstract
Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) merupakan aspek penting dalam menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang aman, termasuk di lingkungan pendidikan vokasi seperti Workshop Konstruksi Bangunan FPTI UPI. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat kesadaran mahasiswa dalam menerapkan K3, mengidentifikasi faktor dominan yang mempengaruhi kesadaran tersebut, serta mengukur pemahaman mahasiswa mengenai prosedur K3 dan penggunaan Alat Pelindung Diri (APD). Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner, tes dan observasi langsung terhadap mahasiswa yang sedang melaksanakan praktik di workshop. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kesadaran mahasiswa dalam penerapan K3 berada pada klasifikasi tinggi berdasarkan nilai TCR. Faktor dominan yang mempengaruhi kesadaran mahasiswa adalah sikap lingkungan, yang mencerminkan nilai dan keyakinan internal terhadap pentingnya keselamatan kerja. Sikap ini terbentuk melalui proses internalisasi nilai K3 dari pembelajaran teori, pengalaman praktik dan pengamatan di lingkungann workshop, sehingga mendorong penerapan K3 secara sukarela dan sadar, bukan semata karena kewajiban prosedural. Pemahaman mahasiswa dalam penerapan prosedur K3 dan penggunaan APD memperoleh nilai rata-rata 92-100 yang termasuk kategori nilai A dengan derajat “Istimewa” atau sangat baik, meskipun pemahaman terhadap APD tertentu seperti pelindung kaki masih perlu ditingkatkan. Disarankan agar pihak pengelola workshop meningkatkan pengawasan penggunaan APD, menambahkan kelengkapan fasilitas K3 untuk memperkuat pemahaman mahasiswa secara menyeluruh. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan dalam meningkatkan efektivitas pendidikan K3 di lingkungan vokasi terutama ditempat praktik atau workshop. Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) is a crucial aspect in creating a safe working environment, including within vocational education settings such as the Construction Workshop of FPTI UPI. This study aims to analyze students’ level of awareness in implementing OSH, identify the dominant factors influencing that awareness, and assess their understanding of OSH procedures and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The research method employed was descriptive quantitative, with data collected through questionnaires, tests, and direct observation involving students from the Building Engineering Education (PTB) program of 2021–2023 and the Architectural Engineering Education (PTA) program of 2021–2022 who had participated in workshop practice. The results showed that students’ awareness in applying OSH was categorized as high based on the TCR score. The dominant factor influencing this awareness was environmental attitude, reflecting internal values and beliefs regarding the importance of workplace safety. This attitude was shaped through the internalization of OSH values gained from theoretical learning, hands-on practice, and direct observation in the workshop environment, leading to voluntary and conscious implementation of OSH—not merely as a procedural obligation. Students’ understanding of OSH procedures and PPE use was generally excellent, though comprehension of certain equipment, such as foot protection, still requires improvement. It is recommended that the workshop management enhance supervision, improve the availability of PPE and OSH facilities, and strengthen experience-based learning approaches. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for improving OSH education effectiveness in vocational settings.
